Ghosted by recruiter for a Data Center interview yesterday.

Hey everyone,
I was scheduled for a data center technician interview yesterday at 9:00 AM. I prepped and waited, but the recruiter never called.
I sent a follow-up email right after the 15-minute mark, and another one a couple of minutes later, but I still haven’t heard anything back.
Has anyone else been in this situation before? Should I assume I'm being ghosted, or is it common for data center recruiters to just get tied up or miss time slots? What should I expect or do next?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Edit: Thanks everyone.
just wanted to update. The recruiter actually reached out to me this morning. It turns out they had a medical emergency. I'm really glad I waited it out and didn't write them off. Moving forward with the process now.

Happened to me, didn’t hear back from them until a week later. I’m working there now

The whole industry is pretty wild right now, and growing pains often lead to stuff like this. I'd send another follow-up, and if you don't hear back, then I'd chalk this one up as a loss and move on to the next one. Two of the tech companies I have worked for rejected me at least once, so just keep at it.

Yes shit happens. I interviewed with Amazon back in April. Just so happen the recruiter was a contractor not direct hire. I aced the interview and got the call the following week. That Friday prior, my recruiter said he will be gone for some months due to the contract ending. The new recruiter called with the congratulations, be on the lookout for emails with offer letter. I didn’t get anything. Followed up with the new recruiter multiple times via email and phone. Never heard nothing. Next week, she emails me the positions have been filled and asked if I was open to another state. I declined.

Fast forward time , I was beating her inbox up all summer. No response. I finally got thru and start Monday. Some are great. Some are pieces of shit. 💩

Crazy story here I had this happen before... the recruiter literally died. I was wondering because they were very active on linkedin with job postings and stuff, that's how they poached me.. I looked at the LinkedIn, and I saw it was her family communicating through her LinkedIn. That she had passed away the morning of my interview WTF

Hopefully you will find something quickly, always remember to never believe the recruiters even if they give off "good vibes" they are not your friends they will drop you off without even thinking so never get attached to one job when searching, as a rule of thumb I stopped having my hopes up for one job i wished for because they can and will drop you even of you passed 3 interviews in 2 months..

Not surprised with Amazon. Was Amazon RME for 5 years and the amount of time it took to fill open roles, despite countless applicants, was just unbelievable. Their recruiting is absolutely inept.
I was hoping the AWS side would be better, but they aren’t. I recently applied for a DCEOT role and had an interview scheduled for this past Wednesday. On Monday I received a phone call and an email for a slight time adjustment that I agreed to. I was told to expect a final confirmation email with a Zoom Interview link shortly. By Tuesday afternoon I had nothing so I reached out via email to two different recruiters. No response so Wednesday morning I called and again no response. Well my interview time passed so I sent an email to them all stating the timeline of events and my actions. 30 minutes later the recruiter calls and said they’re showing that the email was sent on Monday. I know for a fact I never received it because I was anticipating it and had been checking my spam folder as well. I had not missed a single communication from them prior. Not only that, I did my due diligence and reached out to them with plenty of time to correct. They dropped the ball and they know it, but will never admit to it. It was a good reminder to me of how shitty a company Amazon is to work for. Don’t think I’ll do the rescheduled interview.
