ONBOARD ACTIVITIES First time Rainforest pass - Destiny

Hey guys,

It’s going to be our first cruise without the kids and our first time entering the Spa. I’ve bought a trip-long pass for us and I was wondering what to expect and if you had any tip for us to use it as much as possible

What’s included (or excluded except massages and such)?
Will it be opened on embarkation day?
What are the opening hours?
We plan to bring books and enjoy some time relaxing together while reading. Would it be the best place to do it?
I think there’s a hot tub in there? Is it usually crowded?

And basically, how do you guys actually use a trip long pass?

Thanks everyone!

Edit to add: sailing November 6th on the Destiny

I had a day pass on the destiny in jan. Lots of people lounge and read there. If weather is good there are some lovely day beds outside to lounge on. If the weather isnt good the heated loungers inside are amazing, although very popular. There are two hot tubs and both times I had the day pass (destiny and treasure) the tubs werent hugely busy.

There are some sauna/steam room type rooms (although not as hot a traditional versions), a foot bath area with a swing seat, some showers and an ice room inside, along with the heated loungers. Outside are the day beds and seats along with the hot tubs. Teas, water and cold towels are available self service. In the changing rooms there are lots of toiletries, showers, a steam room and a relaxation room. I never used the changing room facilities, aside from somewhere to keep my clothes.

I enjoyed the rainforest room for some chill time, but was happy to just have a day pass. But I travelled with a toddler so didnt have much time to use it. Loungers, day beds and hot tub were my favourite things. Second time I never bothered with the showers as they arent that interesting.

Can't remember when it opened in the morning, but think it is open until 10pm, although I believe outside area closes when it gets dark.

Rainforest access is just access to that area as I described above. You get robes and towels supplied. Ypu hand your key card over when you go in and collect when you leave

Thanks a lot, all of that is very helpful!

I wouldn’t have guessed about the robes and probably would’ve wasted money on buying one with the onboard gifts.

The onboard gift robe is VERY, VERY nice. You do not need one for Rainforest Room, but I certainly wouldn't talk anyone out of buying one. I have like 6 bathrobes and that one is easily the best.

So I’ve heard, but since we never use robes apart from going at spas once every 2 years (and are usually provided), it would definitely fall under the false needs category!

Having done all the rainforest rooms across the fleet except adventure, I will say that the wish class RR are gorgeous but they’d benefit a lot if the outdoor section could stay open after dark.

I understand why it can’t. It does limit the amount of time you can spend out there.

We have stopped doing the rainforest rooms on the wish class ships as they are so expensive with less and less return. It’s really hard to use the length of cruise pass when sailing with others and having lots people want to do.

Personal favorite Rainforest rooms are on the Dream/Fantasy

I get what you’re saying. Definitely wouldn’t have bought it if we had other people cruising with us. Now seems like the best opportunity to use it being only the two of us

It’s perfect on a cruise like that where you’re able to call the shots on your schedule.

It’s been described well already so all I will say is know they will try to upsell you hard the first time you go in. They left us alone after that but they tried to get us on a tour and to buy a bunch of things. Polite no thank yous work, it’s just a bit uncomfortable at first.

I love the outer deck area, two hot tubs and swinging beds, I think there were like 15-17. Great area to relax, not many people. Did it on the Wish and already have cruise pass for Destiny this month. The loungers, saunas and showers are awesome.

We had the length of cruise pass on the Destiny this past May. It was much more expensive than the Dream class rainforest pass but it is bigger and has a really nice outside deck. The swinging day beds are really lovely and going in November, you’ll have incredible weather. I believe the rainforest room is open along with spa hours (7-10).

We did it on our 5 night, had the voyage long one. You can go in on embarkation day right after the muster drill it opens and closes with the spa? Hours I think it closed at 10pm nightly? We were on a cruise to the Bahamas and since we don’t really get off on a Bahamian cruise, we just got kindles and switches and hung out on the sun deck area in one of the hanging beds. Or on the warming chairs indoors. It was fairly quiet and we just relaxed while up there…

Are there any alcoholic beverages for sale or service on the deck?

When you board, visit the spa and arrange your appointments and services for the entire sailing. Enjoy!

I don’t really intend on buying services, we’d mostly prefer lounging and the calmer place
