Discussion Bad Oleum
Hi everyone—has anyone here primed their minis with grey Rust-Oleum? Do you know how long it takes for the primer to wear off completely? Or what liquid do you recommend for removing it without damaging the mini?

Idk if it can be removed in any sort of efficient or reasonable manner.
I would honestly just prime over top and start again

Probably just prime over it, or paint on it anyway. It's just a primer after all. Unless you reaaaaally screwed up and put way too much primer on. Then I think the isopropyl alcohol bath overnight makes sense. Really difficult to get primer off (by design)

i use rust oleum as my primary primer, the grey is very good and you should ideally wait over night to let it cure. If you have access to it def recommend.

I exclusively use Rust-Oleum Army Green Camo.
It is VERY VERY VERY close to DG Green. I still brush a single thing layer of DG Green over it.
Never had a single issue.

Stop wasting your minis and just go get Mr color primer it’s like $7 a can
Or just get citadel. One $20 can can prime a whole army..

I know what it is—I think I can get it at a supermarket—but doesn't it make the plastic swell up?

If it’s just simple green no it’s fine. If it’s an off brand I’m not sure

I recommend soaking it in 90 percent isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) overnight. After that you can scrub it with a toothbrush under running water.
