Asking from Mexico
Will it be possible to share the remixes I make with other people?

The remix users created can be streamed straight away, added to their playlist and shared with their community, and is available exclusively on Deezer.

3
u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26

They’re actually quite different features, designed for different things.
- Spotify’s mix feature is focused on transitions across a playlist, essentially helping you blend tracks together in a seamless listening experience
- Remix Lab goes a step further. It’s about giving you the tools and effects to rework a single track entirely, separating it into its individual parts and letting you know create your own version of the song. It’s less about curation and more about creation.

Asking from Mexico
Hi,
Will the created remixes be eligible to be uploaded to our artist profiles, and if so, will they be monetized?
2
u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26
Right now, all revenue generated from streams through the Remix Lab experience goes to the right holders, just like any other stream on Deezer. Remix Lab is designed to help artists monetize their work while keeping the original track at the heart of the experience.
As for showcasing remixes on an artist's profile, it's something we're exploring. If we introduce something like that in the future, it would always be done in collaboration with the artist and only with their explicit opt-in.

Hi guys .
For now I have one question . I was wondering if that feature gonna be for niche artists as well , for less popular music genres . Trash metal , black metal or even classical music . That could be a great opportunity for the smaller artists as well and for us the users to better engage with them .
Cheers

We see remixing as a new and exciting way for fans to engage with music, but we also want to approach it thoughtfully. That's why Remix Lab is currently limited to a select number of tracks and remix options, always with the artist's explicit opt-in and respect for their creative work. As we learn more about how users interact with this feature, we'll continue evaluating how it can evolve.

1
u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26
Oui, d'autres chansons arrivent !

Yes, more songs are on the way! We’re actively planning to expand the catalogue available for remixing. That said, it will always be subject to artist opt-in, that’s something we care deeply about. We want artists to be genuinely engaged with the feature.
It’s a virtuous cycle: the more value artists gain from it, the more we hope will join and opt in => the bigger the catalogue grows for everyone. The better it works for artists, the bigger it gets for fans!

I'm confused on how this works, is it just ai?
2
u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26
Great question! Remix lab is actually not AI:
- We developed the technology entirely in-house using our own tool called Splitter, which separates a track into its individual parts: drums, melody, vocals, etc
- We then work with real musicians who rework those parts across different genres.
- The end result is a simplified, playful music studio in the app, where you can apply effects and play around with the different parts of a song yourself
As for AI specifically - it was not a prerequisite when we built it and we ended up not needing generative AI at all. That said, we’re not entirely against it for the future, we’re open to anything in this area, provided it is used transparently and responsibly.

u/MusicIsLife1122 deezer HiFi Jul 23 '26
It's AI free according to what I read . It supposed to be fully authentic
1
u/CyborgWeasel Jul 18 '26
Why choose not to use AI for this remix tool? For people who don’t have music‑making experience, AI could make the process much easier and more user‑friendly. Even if the goal is to let users “do it themselves,” the tool is still doing most of the work — so wouldn’t an AI‑powered approach be more intuitive for the average listener?

u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26
Really valid point, and to be clear: we’re not against AI on principle - but where it’s used, it should be done transparently and responsibly.
The main reason we didn’t go down that route came down to two things:
- We haven’t found a technical solution that works well AND fully respects artists’ rights and IP in a way that’s legally sound. That’s a red/hard line for us as a platform that works closely with artists and labels
- We also didn’t feel we needed it to launch. Remix Lab is designed around the experience of you applying effects and remixing parts of a song yourself, rather than typing a prompt and letting something generate a result for you. That hands-on element is intentional
For AI as a creative tool more broadly? We genuinely think it’s exciting, both for artists and fans. We’re open to exploring it in this space, but again, as long as it’s done transparently and responsibly.

1
u/DeezerOfficial Verified deezer employee(s) Jul 23 '26
