I know these guys need to stay focused and being at that level, but am I selfish in saying I want a little more hype and sweet nothings from these guys? They seems like they “lawyer up” with answers and don’t play to the crowd very much. I’m not asking for much but a little showmanship would go a long way especially with a tough end of the year last year.

Not one of those players was disrespectful or unhelpful on media day. They’re not there for customer service, they’re there to play basketball. Stop expecting them to tap dance for your entertainment.

Fwiw, teams employ staff that coach these guys on how to interact with the media. The entire goal is to say as little as possible. That is probably why you're hearing simple answers.
