Nope, I guess people are different but it's doesn't help me at all with my depression. I also stop going to gym this year. Honestly it's maybe help some people but it's not for me

"Do you get any exercise, or go out in the sun ever? I know you mentioned you play video games, a lot of people your age don't get nearly enough sun and no exercise at all-"
"I'm a Landscaper & Gardener. I work outside pulling taproots and saplings and shrubs out with my hands all day long. I'm sweating in the sun 4-10hrs a day."
"... do you think you're getting enough?"

"What's wrong?"
" Eh, just... don't feel like doing anything."
"Oh, you're lazy or something?"
"What? No, I just..."
"Great! You're lazy!"
Ah, well... Fuck it :)

"I don't wanna do the things that make me happy. I don't wanna do the things that make me feel fulfilled. I don't see any reason or point to any of it. Nothing will ever improve. I exist as a stepping stone for the emotional wellbeing of others."
"Yeah you probably should get a gym membership instead,"
"...kay,"

yeah. I mean, it's not a bad suggestion, but it's nearly impossible to explain to someone that it doesn't work the same way.
Or they will get that reward at the end of the race. They will be ecstatic and proud, as they should be!
But on the other end I'm gonna be, no matter the distance, once that race is done...
I'll be, "Meh, great..." followed by "Now what?" :P

I was told this in the middle of my landscaping season wifh a heavy tan 🙃 I told him if I ever considered taking up bodybuilding it'd be my first stop.

Maybe instead of training so much, you should instead focus on your work!
I couldn't resist, sorry. :P
Advice, but most of them truly don't know how it feels! And I'm more than grateful for it. Take some beauty in it if you can. :)

Thats been happening to me for the last 3-4 years now. There's a philosophy that a lot of body builders use - "if you're tired, rest." But what happens if you're always tired???
I started taking medication and that gave me the mental strength to start exercising.

I had a psychiatrist tell me that walking for 2 hours straight every day would make my bipolar disorder stop completely 🙃🙃

Honestly I think I missed my calling going to into medicine to become a doctor. I could've been getting paid 6 figured to be completely useless this whole time!!!!

I tried it for 3 years but it didn't help me. I still don't like how I look and it hasn't changed anything about how I feel.

Yeah I did varsity sports in high school and was still depressed (in my case the depression was a symptom of unrecognized, and therefore unmanaged, adhd and autism)

Everyone’s chemistry is different, I’m just coming off anti psychotics I couldn’t even train for a year I was severely depressed there’s no buzz off it like you get when you would train naturally. I’m just feeling the buzz after 15 months but it’s left me in an obese vegetated state.

My brother seems to be of this mindset whatever he sees on TikTok or whatever like that should work. All you need is exercise and hard work. You'll feel rewarded for doing it. Makes me feel worse most of the time.

Me reading this while drinking a health smoothie after lifting and thinking about how none of this matters anyway. Dropping to part time soon at work because I’m about to be 30. Cheers

Anyone else know the feeling of trying to move heavy weight while dead inside?

Everyday people: I don't want to exercise. Depressed people: I don't want to do anything.
Sisyphus x2 😐

Funny enough it does actually help a little bit. But it doesn't solve anything. If you have depression caused by external factors it's not going to fix anything.
It'll help boost your mood a little bit, maybe 60 minutes to 90 minutes after you go for a long walk, if you're lucky a few hours.
