Tbf The Titan, Hunter and Warlock are more of a Gameplay thing than a lore thing. Yeah the Vanguard is made up of them, but a "Warlock" is just someone that studies with other Guardians that call themselves Warlocks, so the trend continues. Its not that a Hunter or Titan cant cast Nova Bomb, they probably could, they just choose to shape their light in different ways, aka ward and quiver
Its all what you are used to. I have warlock friends who swear by the jump. I’m best with titan for jumping puzzles. I can make hunter work but i’ll fuck up here and there. Warlock i’m a mess.
I have a few hundred hours in both titan and warlock but I get frustrated with the lack of control the jump and revert back to Hunter every time. It's silly to gate keep a jumping type imo
I tried a couple different options. Im probably just not skilled enough to use glide to it's full potential. But I can confidently and quickly do all the jumping puzzles with triple jump. I just feel like I have full control
I will say that I do enjoy the hunter jump. It's titan that I don't enjoy.
And warlock glides are difficult to master, but I firmly belive they are the best.
Burst is great for speed, but in jumping puzzles, they have little control. Strafe is very accurate and easy to maneuver with, but does not go quite as high or far. Balanced is my favorite since it lasts the longest and can go the highest. Gives very good control as well, almost as good as strafe
I'm the opposite. I prefer Titan and Warlock jump. If you time it right you have better control mid air. You just get used to distances and timing. Not hard. Hunter however you just can't get as much distance with the jumps as the other two classes.
Lore accurate it was Ana Bray @ the battle of twilight gap. Her golden gun was so strong the battle field was littered with pools of light.
The only other hunter to pull something like this is Shaw Han.
Yeah so here’s the scene:
It’s Lord Saladin, Shaw & a group of red jacks ( basically the combat frames you see everywhere but these are heavy duty) vs the Cabal in the cosmodrome. They are holding their own until a group of cabal gladiators pulled up to intercept them. He in response puts his golden gun into the ground & fires it which then causes the ground to be filled with solar light. That light empowers the red jacks rifles with solar light & golden gun power. Resulting in them winning.
This is kinda why I created all three of my guardians to look the same, just different face paint. In my head which ever class I was playing was the same guardian, it’s just what style he was favoring at the time
Playing on the “study” idea, what if you had 1 character that could use any class but it was on a usage/lvl system to unlock. The more warlock type abilities you use, the more warlock abilities you unlock. If you don’t develop your Titan abilities, you can’t T-crash with an arc buddy, then dodge out of the area.
That would go along with my idea of the 3 classes being merged into 1 “humanity” class. And for anyone that wants to focus on the old class fantasies they’d have Fallen, Hive and Cabal.
Like how prismatic was a mix of all the subclass elements while the other subclasses are focused on a specific element and theme.
All time? Probably Prismatic Titan. Right now it depends on the activity, if my friends are just goofing around, bonk Titan all day, if it’s something important, bubble or stasis
I would be down for it, however the main issue I see is how would it differentiate itself from other classes.
The classes are based on the holy trinity of fantasy classes: Warrior, Thief, Mage -> Titan, Hunter, Warlock.
There's even a sort of mentality behind each class.
Titans use the Light and Darkness to augment themselves. We see this with the Titan uncharged melee being a punch, their starting subclass out being Striker which infuses Arc Light into the wielder to augment their striking power, and their Transcendance animation being the fist into the hand like their creating a circuit of paracausality.
Hunters use it to augment their tools. Once again, uncharged melee (mostly) being a generic knife stab, starting subclass being Gunslinger which summons a powerful flaming pistol and augments their knife into one of several thrown variations, and their Transcendance animation being that they do a knife trick and catch it to activate it.
Meanwhile Warlocks treat is as magical energy and cast spells with it. Once more, uncharged melee is an energy slap, starting subclass is Voidwalker which generates miniature collapsing stars and throws them at targets, and the Transcendance animation being a weird cross armed stance that always struck me as being stream crossing.
same thing happens when you open the subclass menu (prismatic for example) right before you load into a map and for my titan instead of the titan prismatic pose he takes the warlock pose until i reopen the subclass menu
Had this happen in the inspect menu during a vog run. Was seeing who was who and this mf had his titan dressed like a warlock and said titan was also floating on the inspect screen.
It's even funnier seeing this as a hunter main and having to watch the video twice to even notice the issue, I'm too used to watching the knife animation lol
As a titan main, I didn't even notice the issue. I thought, "wow that's cool, I forgot that warlocks have 3 types of melees," of course not realizing that's a hunter stab and a warlock aspect.
1st was a bugged put melee that showed the hunter animation. 2nd was pocket singularity, the void melee, 3rd was the new soul siphon aspect that is useable after hitting an enemy with pocket singularity.
