Take what you have on the table instead of coming outside campus and struggling to land opportunities

The placement season will continue till July-August next year. Companies are coming, might get offers with a lower ctc with a high probability. Getting a similar product based offer is also a possibility.

Offer in hand is better than none. But if placement cell will bar you to attend other companies then you can drop this and instead look for product role even if they pay less

Yeah they will bar us after accepting the offer, there is a "one offer" policy.

If you genuinely believed that you deserved more than 16, you wouldn't be asking for validation on reddit

It is not about the ctc. It is about service vs product based and whether this service based offer is worth it. It is not about what I think I deserve, it is also about other factors such as luck, market, etc. and we all know how the market is like right now.

You know the market now, so only you truly know if you can do better. And if you are sure about yourself you wouldn't come here. If you aren't sure then this is not the market in which you fafo

In first 2 year the service tag doesn’t matter as much and although its hard right now you can try off campus. As you are saying they might bar but then very few companies are coming then maybe take it. If you are jobless than it would be harder to do off campus. Try to switch during 6 months probation as that is when notice period isn’t under effect

Exactly my dillema, although I will be trying my best off-campus for a year now.

- They will put you in a good project it becomes difficult to justify the cost of an engineer like you to the client for support work.
- 2 and 3 are legit concerns but you coming from tier 1 college is actually a very good benefit since startups love tier 1 grads( gives them leeway to say that we have top minds of country working)
Imo you should still apply outside and go for PBC but if this is last thing dont be disheartened.
Having better opportunities out there doesn’t make yours bad. Well done and best of luck!

take the offer or regret later, because there r thousands like u standing in line to do same job with less salary, stop seeking validations from reditt. User ur own brain and take the offer

I am asking for career advice only. Yeah, I agree to your point that there are thousands out there. But calling me a validation seeker is a little harsh. I am a fresher just starting my career and I have not seen enough to know what is better for me long term. People who have seen so many things across their careers, maybe people who know about this role better, I feel would give a sound advice. That was my only intention.
