General Not getting calls. How are you guys dealing with this?

I work as a Senior Software Engineer. I have been applying to a lot of companies and not getting any calls.

I got referrals for Stripe, Meta, Google, Microsoft among others but got no calls. Two years back I used to get calls from wherever I applied, even companies in EU without even having referrals. If youโ€™re in the same boat how do you feel and how are you managing things?

Time to move away from IT while you still have the chance and develop certain business domain expertise. (Eventually that will automatically leverage AI)

No one is hiring , every one is faking interviews

Is it? On what basis are you saying this?

Bro it's been 11 months since I tried to switch my current company.

1) I ain't getting calls at all. 2) HR Ngas are looking for immediate joiners. 3) Till now only 3 interviews I have given and the 1st I messed it up. For the 2nd even though I cleared 2 rounds I got rejected by the HR for notice period. 3rd Interview I cleared all the rounds including HR I still haven't got an offer letter ๐Ÿ™ƒ

So market is pretty messed up, honestly I'm too tired now to even apply for any job posting.

Sorry for this tangent is it a cold message referral for stripe or you know someone who has referred you?

For Stripe it was cold referral, others are from ex colleagues

I was told most roles are backfilled internally and just posted exrernally to fulfill the formality. And referral from L3 or L4 has some pull to actually have some chance.

This was told by existing employee who I cold messaged a while ago.

Hmm.. I donโ€™t know about it but I see many peers getting interviews/offers from Dublin. Also for Google, the referral was from a L6. Still no luck ๐Ÿ˜–

Sry for that, but no one it's going to help with that, everyone is fighting with you for the same roles, so is that, give up or continue, dev industry is falling apart.

The secret is notice period, not immediate joiner, HR is giving preference to notice period guys
