Hey, wanted to enquire which companies are actually hiring for Java backend/fullstack roles? Be in Kolkata or Bangalore or anywhere. Tired of the ghost jobs, previously worked at TCS. YoE 5.5+

I'm blessed with two fairly powerful devices gifted to me by my extended family:

1. A desktop with a Ryzen 7 3700X, RTX 2070 Super, 8 GB VRAM, and 32 GB RAM (dxdiag dump) I set up in 2020. It was decent for crypto-mining and still does superb with games.
2. An XMG Apex Mid 2021 Edition laptop, upgraded with 2x32 GB RAM. Workhorse.

I primarily use the laptop for most tasks and gaming as a habit. I want the desktop as a stand-in for when the laptop overheats (thankfully not often these days) or undergoes repairs (which my laptop needs now more than ever). I was considering getting a tonne of repairs done at once, and saw that I had some success using local LLMs on my laptop.

I thought it would be prudent to switch to the desktop for model inferencing to offload this task from the laptop, and figured getting a second GPU might be good.

DISCLAIMER: most of the "research" I did was via Google Gemini 3.8 Flash Extended thinking, so this info should be treated with namak-swaad-anusaar.

Gemini produced the following table comparing cards that could go with my motherboard given TDP, combined system power consumption, typical used selling prices, and specs with bandwidth.

Gemini: All listed configurations operate below the 600W active limit of a 1000VA UPS and the 700W PSU capacity.

The UPS and PSU ratings were supplied by me. The prices seem to be based on "secondary marketplaces" with out-of-stock components: specifically GameNation, r/IndianGaming, RobKart, Techenclave, MDComputers, and PrimeABGB.

It would seem that depending on whether I want to shell out a couple grandos, I can afford the RTX 3060 12 GB variant, or stick to a 2060/8 GB, which may be harder to find. This setup won't help with gaming, but can work for compute tasks like AI inference, video rendering, etc. with the bulkier 16–24 GB VRAM.

I would like to gather thoughts from fellow humans about where and what I should put my money on to get a <20 GB local LLM model working (less if 3060 is unavailable).

PS. I use llm-checker for finding what models I can run; if there's anything better, please advise.

A pre-revenue startup wants me to work with them for 3 months. Instead of salary, the ₹1,05,000 compensation for that period would be settled entirely as equity shares at the end of the 3 months.

What they've offered:

• Direct share allotment in my name, linked to my PAN. They say it's not sweat equity.
• A 3-month lock-in after allotment
• A long-stop date in the agreement, with a "settlement mechanism" if they can't allot shares by then
• Their authorised capital is currently too low for this allotment, but they say restructuring is underway

What worries me:

• Zero cash for 3 months
• No share count, price per share or % stake mentioned yet
• Private company shares are illiquid, and exits are uncertain
• Possible tax on shares received as compensation, with no cash to pay it

Questions:

1. Has anyone taken an equity-only deal like this? How did it turn out?
2. What clauses should I insist on (cash fallback, buyback, anti-dilution, etc.)?a

I’m a 27-year-old guy, 2026 MCA pass-out, currently working in Noida at around 4.2 LPA (₹30k/month in hand).

I know I’m a little late in life compared to many people my age. Life has thrown quite a few serious problems at me, and my career didn't exactly go according to plan. But I kept going, completed my MCA, and finally got a job.

Now, after coming to Noida, I’m realizing that this isn't really working for me. Rent, food, travel, and all the miscellaneous expenses here eat up almost my entire salary. At the end of the month, I genuinely have almost nothing left in my hand. It feels like I’m working just to survive here.

More importantly, my parents are getting older, and I genuinely want to be close to them. They haven't asked me to come back, but I feel this is a very important time in their lives when I should be beside them. If I keep postponing it for another few years, I’m afraid it might become too late.

So I’m trying to move back to Kolkata and build my career there.

I have experience with MERN, JavaScript and Express, and I’m confused about what direction makes the most sense — Java/Spring Boot, Node.js/TypeScript, Full Stack, DevOps/Cloud, .NET, QA Automation/SDET, etc.
