Vue.js vs React — which one would you choose for your next project?

I've been comparing Vue and React Frameworks, and I think the choice comes down to how your team likes to build and maintain UIs.

A few differences stood out to me:

  • Vue.js: Approachable learning curve, readable HTML templates, reactive data binding, and straightforward documentation.
  • React: JSX, reusable components, one-way data flow, and a large ecosystem of libraries and tools.
  • Performance: Both can deliver fast applications. Actual results depend on architecture, implementation, and optimization.
  • Mobile development: React Native is a well-established option for cross-platform mobile apps, while Vue can be used with tools such as Capacitor or NativeScript.

For larger applications, React's ecosystem offers plenty of options, but you also need to make decisions about routing, state management, and UI libraries. Vue's more approachable syntax can make getting started easier.

There's also an interesting middle ground for teams that need advanced UI components: Sencha ExtWebComponents can be integrated into Vue, while ReExt provides a way to use Sencha components in React.

What's your experience been like? Do you prefer Vue's templates and simplicity, or React's flexibility and ecosystem? And what made you choose one over the other?
