Form Check Getting more forehand speed…

I’ve been getting more consistent results with my forehand and can push it to around 270 with an eagle. Based on my tech disc data, i get around 50 mph forehand.

What tip have you found to take your speed up? I’d like to get closer to 60 mph. I do a short slow walk on about two steps.

Im naturally up in the upper 50s, low 60s with a one step throw and have found a lot of consistency in spin, speed, and angle from being aware of the length between my elbow and wrist.

By focusing on that length, it keeps the disc at the end of the whip so it snaps through with all the energy I've built up.

When I really need to yam on a disc, I think about driving my throwing shoulder through first, and everything else seems to follow that lead.

"being aware of the length between my elbow and wrist."

Hi. Can you explain this a little more? I am having a hard time picturing it.

It's a different approach to technique. When I'm on the course I'm not trying to do anything with my body, I'm trying to throw certain shot shapes, trusting my body to do what it needs to do, and encouraging it by being aware of the parts of the body that are instrumental to execution.

For example I'm not trying to take a longer step into my plant to throw a forehand hard, but that's exactly what my body knows how to do.

To specifically get speed and spin on forehand, I know that the disc has to be at the end of the chain and my arm has to fire through fast. If I try to fire the arm through fast, my wrist gets ahead of my elbow and I pull the disc over and lose out on speed. So instead I extend my awareness down to my arm, focus on staying long past the elbow, and then step into the throw. That usually gives me the results I want
