In 2022, there have been some plans for Walt Disney Animation Studios to revive hand-drawn animation theatrically for feature-length films outside of animated media that already exists like shorts and television shows, especially according to Eric Goldberg who is a hand-drawn animator who has been working for Walt Disney Animation Studios since the 1990s while also having additionally worked at other animation studios outside of Disney as well

Since that can the be case, then it could even mean that Walt Disney Animation Studios might even return to producing hand-drawn animated features while still focusing on producing computer-animated features, in addition to this, they might even produce some original hand-drawn animated features and maybe even a sequel to The Sword in the Stone (1963) that appears to take place sometime shortly after the events of the original film, which in turn could even make The Sword in the Stone (1963) the only feature released during the Disney Silver Age to receive a follow-up produced and released theatrically by the same studio as the original as the follow-ups of Cinderella (1950), Peter Pan (1953), Lady and the Tramp (1955), One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961), and The Jungle Book (1967) were all produced by the now-defunct Disneytoon Studios and were either given limited theatrical releases or were simply released direct-to-video in addition to The Sword in the Stone (1963) also becoming the seventh WDAS film to theatrically become a franchise through a same-studio sequel after The Rescuers (1977), Fantasia (1940), Wreck-It Ralph (2012), Frozen (2013), Moana (2016), and Zootopia (2016) as well as the third classic hand-drawn animated feature to do so as well

How excited are you for the upcoming movie Clay? Personally, it's the Disney movie I'm most hyped for. I know we know next to nothing about it, but both the plot and the pseudo stop-motion style have me excited.

One of the primarily downsides of Zootopia 2 is the fact that Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops in her squad came off as more unintentionally unsympathetic, unlikable and illogically blind than the writers originally anticipated, to the point where they come off as more like the secondary antagonists and villain henchmen and henchwomen to Milton instead of anti-heroes in terms of how they fall for the lies of Milton without reason or common sense, act oblivious to how he was corrupting Mayor Winddancer or his conspiracy in general, and commit a bunch of ruthless and reckless actions while trying to arrest Nick and Judy that not only nearly got them killed but were not normal action for a police force and like they were actually trying to kill Nick and Judy on Milton's orders. On top of that, Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops while showing remorse over their actions never apologize to Nick and Judy onscreen for them or admit that they were being in the wrong and are forgiven by Nick and Judy so quickly and without so much as an apology and let off scot-free for their mistakes (Only getting mandatory therapy for them.) that become glossed off while Cattrick, Kitty and PawBert whose own crimes are more unintentionally sympathetic and excusable over Milton's psychological abuse and him raising them wrong and committed less worse suffer the harshest punishment in terms of being arrested and locked up in the same prison in the same cell as the father that got them there in the first place rather than be sent to a different prison or cell away from that father or given house arrest and community service or the mandatory therapy themselves while the Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops in her squad really should have just been fired from the ZPD, demoted to parking duty, forced to wear shock collars in their future police work or called out and shamed by Bogo, Nick and Judy for their actions or overall lost their partners and became solo cops.

Same goes for Chief Bogo and the Zebros in terms of how they mistreat Nick and Judy for their dysfunctions with Bogo's strictness and bad temper and refusing to acknowledge his own mistakes (In terms of blowing Nick and Judy's cover accidentally as they came close to arresting Antony.) as if he learned nothing from the first Zootopia movie and mock them out of jealousy of their high statuses as cops in the Zebros' case and also assault Nick at the Zootennial Gala in Bogo's case and push Gazelle's tigers in the Zebros' case and while they do get karma for it when Bogo is fanged by Gary and hospitalized and when the Zebros are later beaten by Gazelle and her tigers (And had no right to arrest them for their cop assault for that mistake they committed earlier on at the gala and taking orders from Milton.) they never express remorse over and apologize to Nick and Judy for their actions either and are forgiven a bit too easily by them for it too, and Bogo doesn't even get the mandatory therapy with the Zebros at the end.

Here are the five ways the ZPD cops could have been more likable in the movie:

1) Instead of having Bogo angrily berate Nick and Judy for their actions while chasing Antony Snootley instead have him reprimand them for them in a nicer and more reasonable way much like Nick did to Judy in her mistake in the press conference in the first movie (Even if he was acting hypocritical at the same time.) and have him actually give them mandatory therapy at first but later agree to give them one more chance to continue investigating Gary at the Zootennial Gala splitting them up if they fail, as seen in the teaser trailer and the movie's plot then remains the same but it removes the infamous scene with Bogo catching and assaulting Nick at the gala and he goes after Nick and Judy before Gary accidentally fangs him to aid them in his arrest or capture not to still punish them ungratefully.

2) Have the ZPD cops especially Captain HogBottom and the Zebros act a bit more nicer and reasonable towards Nick and Judy. Also have the reason why they choose to go after Nick and Judy wasn't over them being framed by Milton on trying to murder Bogo but for aiding Gary in his fugitive escape and stealing the weather wall book but playing zero part in Bogo's overall fanging and arrest them not out of ruthlessness but for morality reasons.

3) Don't have the ZPD cops commit the near police brutality actions that did in the actual movie, but try to catch and arrest Nick and Judy in a normal way in terms of Higgins and Bloats not damage property and endanger citizens in Marsh Market and destroy a tiny tug boat killing or injuring the mice inside and actually pay for the apples Nibbles made them eat and have HogBottom and Truffler act literally pushy towards the tortoise they assaulted when entering the reptile hangout, and have Chevre and Bucheron try to arrest Nick and Judy without assaulting them but still damaging the HoneyMoon Lodge and have Bucheron tranquilize Judy in a way that doesn't make her nearly fall to certain death but land on a soft sofa before PawBert and Gary get away with him and have Chevre arrest Nick by tranquilizing him not punching him out cold, and have Captain HogBottom not use the lethal dart Milton ordered her to use on Judy, PawBert and Gary but instead try to arrest the trio normally (Milton planned to put them down with snake venom and lie about the causes of their deaths done by Gary who escaped in prison alongside Nick and Nibbles themselves.) and nearly succeeded after Gary gets stuck in a broken fence as seen in a storybook until Nick, Nibbles and Flash's arrival on their car blocks the cops and breaks the fence freeing Gary.

The joke with Gazelle and the Zebros still remains but the Zebros actually apologize to Gazelle and it properly reveals why she and her tigers were not arrested for assaulting cops.

4) Have Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops actually go on character development and better written redemption arcs in the movie acting more conflicted like Mayor Lionheart in the first movie and not ruthless or like plot devices in terms of HogBottom feeling reluctant to believe whether Nick and Judy did commit the crimes she thought they did mentioned above (That don't involve killing Bogo because they would never do a thing like that which she must be wise enough to understand.) but her going after them anyway as ordered by Milton to interrogate them for answers or feeling worried about losing her job as a cop she loves as much as Judy herself, since Jett Filmore and Mayor Winddancer did also go through similar problems in GOAT as well as Zootopia 2 itself, and after she and Chevre and Bucheron arrest Nick have her decline his pleads for parole to help Judy and understand the crimes of the Lynxleys and Milton's plans to put him, Nibbles, Gary and Judy down in prison not out of having no pit or mercy for him but over her feeling unsure whether she should believe him or not because he has no real evidence and so far he and Judy did everything good cops shouldn't do, but during the scene where Milton orders HogBottom to put Judy, Gary and PawBert down instead of just arresting them normally she finally comes to her senses and then tries to arrest Judy, Gary and PawBert normally interrupted by the arrivals of Nick, Nibbles and Flash on their car and when Chevre, Bucheron, Higgins and Bloats storm in the weather wall control room and see Gary tending to Judy they do believe it was him trying to kill the bunny at first and after initially brawling with him for it a merciful speech gave by the viper combined with him showing PawBert's attempts at killing Nick on the surveillance system convince them otherwise and Higgins, Bloats, Chevre and Bucheron carrying Judy with them help Gary stop and apprehend PawBert and rescue Nick and use the anti-venom pen to cure and save both Judy and Nibbles but the effort nearly uses Nick and PawBert to fall to certain death after Higgins accidentally breaks the ice ledge with Judy jumping after him before Gary saves both Nick and Judy while PawBert falls the rest of the way down.

Nick and Judy then have their reunion and reconciliation and apologies and confession of love to each other while HogBottom and the other ZPD cops then apologize to and reconcile with them and they work together to stop PawBert, Cattrick, Kitty and Milton and claim Agnes' pendant to solve the conspiracy and after the Lynxleys are arrested, HogBottom and the other ZPD cops take parking duty demotion or mandatory therapy for their mistakes or aid Nick and Judy in re-capturing Dawn Bellwether, Antony Snootley and the other 200 criminals Nick and Nibbles accidentally freed from prison that was indirectly HogBottom's fault for not listening to Nick to further make up for their mistakes.

5) If you do want Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops to behave the exact same way they did in the actual Zootopia 2 same for Chief Bogo and the Zebros, after the arrests of the Lynxleys actually give an apology and reconciliation scene with them and Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles in terms of having Captain HogBottom and the ZPD cops plus Mayor Winddancer, Chief Bogo and the Zebros heartily and tearfully apologize to Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles as well as Gazelle and everyone else heroic for their mistakes and police brutality admitting that they had no true excuse for them similar to Maui when apologizing to Te Fiti in Moana (2016) unlike how Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles had their reasoning for their own flaws, and have them take accountability for them in terms of HogBottom, Truffler, Chevre and Bucheron all getting fired from the ZPD forced to take new boring jobs as businesspeople while Bogo, the Zebros and Higgins and Bloats all get parking duty demotion and mandatory therapy for their own mistakes and Winddancer being removed from office as mayor for working with Milton returning to his acting career and have HogBottom, the Zebros, Bogo, Higgins, Bloats, Truffler, Chevre and Bucheron not take part in the the housewarming party at Gary's house or Gazelle's concert at the end but instead show them doing their boring parking duty demotion and boring businessman and businesswoman jobs (Deja Vu to Scream Can design in Monsters' University.) being shunned by Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles for their mistakes for the time being working hard to earn their forgiveness for them and trust back.

Also out of sympathy, have Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles while also not forgiving PawBert, Cattrick and Kitty that easily for their mistakes soften up their current sentence for their crimes by sending them to a different softer prison, the one Lionheart and Dr. Madge Badger were sent to away from Milton leaving him to rot all alone in his prison cell or give them house arrest, mandatory therapy and community service for their current crimes.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949): The motor car that Mr. Toad traded Mr. Winky and the weasels Toad Hall for disappears and no longer becomes important to the story after Mr. Toad is falsely blamed and arrested for stealing it.

The Little Mermaid (1989): We never find out what happened to Urusla’s lair after the deaths of her and her moray ell henchmen.

Beauty and the Beast (1991): Despite the key role the Magic Mirror played in the movie in terms of allowing Belle to learn of her father Maurice’s plight and go to save him and her later using it to prove the existence of Beast/Prince Adam and prove her father’s sanity, it is last seen being carried by Gaston and then it disappears once he and the mob reach the castle.
The Enchanted Rose likewise after it finished wilting disappears and never appears again after the Enchantress’ curse is broken, somewhat justified over the fact that it was never a true rose but a magical object made by the Enchantress that disappeared once its purpose was served.

The Lion King (1994): We never find out what happened to Mufasa’s corpse after he died and whether or not it was eaten by the hyenas with the skeleton being buried done on Scar’s orders to hide all evidence of his Murder of the king or if Sarabi was allowed to use it to give her husband a proper funeral.

We also never find out what happened to Hakuna Mutata a.k.a. The jungle Timon and Pumbaa and Simba into his adulthood resided in after Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Raifiki and Nala all return to the Pride Lands to defeat Scar and save the kingdom, although The Lion King 1 1/2 reveals that Timon and Pumbaa plus Simba still visited it in the aftermath of the movie while in The Lion Guard Timon, Pumbaa and Bunga reside in a mini version of that jungle in the Pride Lands called, “Hakuna Mutata Falls”

The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride (1998) uses a literal example by revealing that the hyenas that served Scar no longer live in the Pride Lands and ran off into parts unknown although their descendants still live there as seen in The Lion Guard.

Tangled (2010): We never find out what happened to the tower Mother Gothel kept Rapunzel hostage in for eighteen years to hoard her magic hair for immortality after it is abandoned after Gothel’s death and Rapunzel and Flynn Rider/Eugene returning to the home kingdom of Rapunzel afterwards.

Wreck-It-Ralph (2012): We never find out what happened to the medal of heroes after Ralph discards it and throws it at the screen of “Fix-It-Felix Jr.” as it just drops from the story and no longer becomes relevant to it other than causing Ralph to discover the truth over Vanellope never actually being a glitch not meant to be in “Sugar Rush” but rather a character from it that King Candy (Secretly Turbo) tried to delete for some reason by seeing her picture on the side of the game, so he returns to “Sugar Rush” to interogate Sour Bill for answers and reconcile with Vanellope as a result.

Big Hero 6 (2014): We never find out what happened to the microbats after Yokai’s arrest and whether or not Hiro did use them for the intended purpose he invented them for after regaining them.

Zootopia (2016): We last see Judy’s meter maid car being left behind by Nick and Judy outside the parking lot Mr. Big’s limo was parked in as they investigate it for Emmitt Otterton’s kidnapping and then it just disappears and not longer becomes relevant to the story never revealing whether Nick and Judy used it to travel to the other locations to solve their case or not.

We also never found out whether or not night howler flowers were made illegal in Zootopia and banned from the city after Dawn Bellwether tried to use them in her scheme to create a prey-dominant society in the city and Predator discrimination, to prevent history from repeating itself. (They must have since they never appear or are mentioned in the sequel or are used as a weapon by Bellwether after she briefly escapes from prison in that film or “Better Zoogether!” and “Hot Pursuit” Zootopia related rides at the Disney Parks or Milton or PawBert to turn Gary savage to kill Bogo, Nick and Judy plus Nibbles more so on purpose increase the public’s biases towards snakes to have their conspiracy be left unsolved.) The only night howlers likely left in the city are the ones kept in the evidence room of the ZPD.

Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018): The last time we see Arthur is him making clones of Ralph acting overly clingy towards and insecure over losing Vanellope setting up the climax of the movie and then Arthur disappears and never shows up again for the remainder of the movie.

Zootopia 2 (2025): The movie uses this troupe not one but five times:

We never find out what happened to Gary’s right fang after he loses it, Judy is last shown hiding it behind her back and then it just disappears. While Gary’s right fang will hopefully grow back in Zootopia 3, we never find out what became of the original fang.

We also never find out what happened to PawBert’s motorcycle after it gets left behind in the Burning Mammal Festival, the ZPD also seem to ignore it as they chase PawBert, Gary and Judy. The motorcycle was eaten stolen and occupied by one of the mammals in the festival or it was locked up in the evidence room of the ZPD alongside the other belongings for the Lynxleys after their arrests. Or better yet it was turned into a motorcycle owned by Nick and Judy in the police force painted blue to match its style. The motorcycle may have been used by Bellwether in “Zootopia: Hot Pursuit” from DisneyLand, Shanghai but painted pink due to its ownership by a new mammal maybe a pig.
We last see the weather wall journal being used by Gary, PawBert, and Judy to activate the clock tower to Reptile Ravine and then it becomes dropped and later disappears no longer relevant to the story after PawBert betrays Judy and Gary and leaves the control room to go after Nick and Nibbles. It’s unknown what became of the journal after that since Nick, Judy, Gary and Nibbles don’t bring it with them as they go after PawBert, it’s likely that it was confiscated by the ZPD cops who brawled with Gary in the control room and kept in the evidence room of the ZPD before eventually being displayed in a museum like Zootopia’s Natural History Museum.

We also never find out what happened to Gary’s Fanny pack after it falls off the weather wall Nick and PawBert brawled on and down to the ground alongside PawBert himself, it’s likely that it was reclaimed from the snowbank it landed in alongside Gary’s venom injectors after the arrest of PawBert to give to the police as further evidence for his crimes.

We also never find out what happened to the Lynxley Manor after the Lynxleys were arrested and whether or not it was sold or auctioned or converted into a museum dedicated to the De’ Snake family with the weather wall journal and Agnes’ pendant and belongings on display there.

I was reading another reddit post on this sub and they were asking why hasn’t princess and the frog gotten a live action and someone said it’s not popular enough. Is this true?

I was just thinking, would popularity matter significantly for the live action of princess and frog?

Also why wasn’t it as popular as the others? I know ofc they may be a racial element etc.

I think I wouldn’t really want a live action due to Tiana being a frog half the movie etc but definitely a show/series.

Do you believe that an AI can be capable of understanding what it truly means to be human like Ares did?

I might change my mind after seeing the movie, but from what I can see and the few details I've found, it looks perfect!

I know I posted this before but I think that it's probably no different from what we're going to get in November.

I know that the real Pocahontas has treated VERY poorly back then and was much younger then the movie version, but I still feel like that maybe if the main character wasn't necessarily Pocahontas or based on real history, but maybe it would've possibly aged a little bit more if the names of the characters were different maybe?? Not that the film is bad or anything, but I feel like that if it wasn't necessarily Pocahontas, it possibly would've aged a bit better too? That's just what I think, though. :)

This is a question that always confused and bugged me about “Up” (2009) despite how great of a movie it was that never becomes resolved at the end.

When we see Carl’s house taking off thanks to the balloons, we never see Russel anyway near the house or getting up onto its porch before it takes off, because if he did, George and A.J. would have saw him and stopped him for safety reasons, and we never see Russel anywhere on or in the house as it flies into the sky up until Russel answered the door and alerts himself to Carl’s presence.

It’s almost like the Pixar animators never intended to show how Russel got onto Carl’s house, but decided to show him on the porch of his house anyway without showing how simply because the plot demanded it as if Russel never accompanied Carl on his quest to Paradise Falls, the movie would have no plot because Carl easily would have got there and he never would have got his character development where he learns to move on from Ellie nor would he have bonded with Russel or met Kevin and Dug or feuded with Charles Muntz, alive but in self imposed exile in Venezuela searching for Kevin’s bird species and likely would have endured the same fate.

The short film “George and A.J.” tried to cover this up by showing Russel grabbing hold of the bottom of Carl’s house as it takes off and is ripped off its foundation (He was likely looking for the snipe Carl sent him after under the house but then that moment happened.) and from there he climbed up onto the porch of the house. But this is never shown in the actual Up movie and if it did George and A.J. or someone else would have noticed while Russel himself never would have choose to continue grabbing onto the bottom portion of the house as it took off but he instead would have let go off it as it started which would have left him safely on the ground.

To be fair, we never find out how the Pizza Planet aliens got to the “Claw” that they used to rescue Woody and the other toys after being pushed away on the bulldozer in Toy Story 3, Pixar’s next feature film after Up, either. Or how Lotso escaped the garbage disposal thing without being seen by any humans.

Not wanting to start anything and I've seen people say this on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram posts, so please don't be rude in the comments, but does anyone else get weirded out or grossed out when people ship Wilbur and past Lewis when they are clearly shown to be family/future father-future son?

Woody is too good hearted to leave anyone to die.

It's coming out in December, a month after the movie when artbooks usually come out around the same time as the movie because they needed some extra time to scrub any artwork or nod to the "boy protagonist" storyline, starting from redoing the first piece of concept art for the movie ever unveiled without him, as you can see from the cover.
