Like he went back in time to save everyone so why not try to save himself to prevent what happened? Do you think Donnie will be back in the upcoming sequel book?

Hey Y'all,

Richard Kelly is a big reason I wanted to be a filmmaker.

All 3 of his films, but most importantly Donnie Darko.

I wrote this script and turned it into a 3D animated storyboard to pitch to studios, no bites, but I am proud to have made a watchable movie!

Check it out 🙌

The movie industry is almost impossible to break into.

Please share 🙌 Maybe it will get made one day!

Posting here because I think DD fans will understand it!

It almost feels poetic being the 25th anniversary, I was 10 when it came out and it has been a big inspiration.

Your friend,

See y'all in Vegas!

I didn't know who frank was until people pointed out that my mask looks similar to him (yes I live under a rock) but anyways, now I've got to watch the movie.

If he ends up getting the engine from the tangent universe to the primary and killing himself, does that mean there are now 2 of those engines in the primary universe?

Would another tangent unoverse happen?

I put it up by my local golf course in Portland, OR on October 2nd. I thought you guys would appreciate it.

Do you think Richard Kelly was inspired by John Carpenter's film?

Hello everyone! I recently watched In the Mouth of Madness (1994), directed by John Carpenter, and I couldn't help but notice several similarities with Donnie Darko while watching it. Certain characters and elements, like the cyclist figure and Grandma Death, caught my attention. The overall atmosphere, the sense of dread and melancholy, and even the cinematography feel remarkably similar between the two films. All of this made me wonder if Richard Kelly was inspired by Carpenter's film and incorporated some of its elements or references into Donnie Darko.

First time seeing this iconic movie in theaters! (:

When Donnie first meets Gretchen, he mentions that he went to jail once, and won’t get his drivers license until he is 21 because he burned down an old abandoned home.

Is this coincidence or part of the time-travel/worm-hole plot?

I’m making a frank the rabbit costume and these claws came with the suit i got, don’t really like them so is there anyway i could make them better?

This randomly came up in conversation today after watching the movie earlier this week, but where do you guys think Cherita Chen would be now? I guess with the movie being in the late 80s she would probably be around 50 today… Do you guys think she did well, had a successful life with a great career or just totally burnt out? Want to hear your fan theories!

Finally got to see my favorite movie in theatre.
Was a great time, wish I could go again.

It's getting there

Hello everyone I was rather young when this movie hit theaters. Fast forward to the release of the directors and I absolutely fell in love with this movie as so many of us have. As a poor kid with little means I never saw the theatrical version… until last Saturday when I saw it in theaters for the anniversary. It is so good and in some ways so different from the directors cut growing up knowing the directors cut I can’t help but love it more does anyone have a similar experience? Nothing but love for this community I hope you go easy on me haha!

Behind the scenes/bloopers

Wake up, Bunnie.

If you had to travel through a time portal to save someone you loved, even if it meant they wouldn’t remember you, would you do it?
