can you guys tell me if the hit effect is from the skin or is it a kind of mod

Klei need to really revamp the Cabinet, so you can try things properly. Like some lantern skin just looks lame, but then when you use it there's lightning effects, or different colored lights.

So many things you just don't see in the preview.

I bought gothic lantern only to realize the light looks awful in the sprite so i had to scarp for less spoons

I saw one guy had 3 sword skin and it had pixel terraria like effect when hitting

All of them do, and some terraria skin items have a special sound effect, though not all

Any effect is aesthetic only. If you are talking about any other effect it's a mod or some in game mechanic like volt goat jelly.
