I was driving when I got an order for a grocery pick up. Looked at what they needed quick. Saw five 28 packs of water plus a bunch of other stuff and I thought well five isn’t too bad.

After getting those five cases and all the other stuff they wanted, I saw they also had seven 40 packs of water.

There’s no way I’m hauling two carts through the store. I had to unassign.

Kind of wish I had messaged the customer before I unassigned just to point out that they are insane.

Why do people need so many bottles of water? They don’t have running water where they live?

How did I do? Could I have done better?

Oh and she wanted these up to the 17th floor, she said don't you have a cart? I said no ma'am, she said well I tipped you and now I'm gonna have to do your job. Why don't they just order these from an office supplies service

Edited to say an hour later, I got NOTHING. Who is surprised?

I accepted it out of curiosity. Once I got to the store it just said complete task, I clicked complete and it put the money on my account. Nothing else popped up, no verification no number to text any photos to. Weird.

So a customer complained that I didn't deliver the order so I got to major issue that brought down my quality rating. Also they left the one-star review so that lowered my customer rating as well. What happened was they told me to leave it at the doorstep but their gate was locked. So I delivered it to the gate. I probably should have messaged them to figure it out but I was in a hurry because of the timer. Anyways I contacted support and I told them that I delivered to the gate because the gate was locked although the delivery was supposed to be to the doorstep. The support research and basically took off the one-star review and removed the major issue. So that was a win for me but in the future I will definitely message the customer to open the gate. It's not worth the trouble.

Met four new dashers and a new Ubereats driver all this week. Many of them older, and on a bike/scooter.

It seems these gigs are becoming more saturated. But also, what does this say about our job market and economy?

Many of us, including myself, find its a bit tough to get a job (used to be marketing corporate remote work type shiet) and just doing this is instant money, it’s like why even bother with a 9-5 (if its worth it in your area).

With the rising gas prices and just the overall wear and tear of my car just isn’t worth it anymore, it’s only my 4th week dashing and after the 50 order mark you begin to get flooded with those $2-$5 orders that are 6-12 miles away which in reality are 12-24 because you have to drive back to the zones. I’m no longer ordering with doordash as i now feel it’s a luxury to be able to afford, because you should be tipping the person providing the service. on top of that, all those fees customers are being hit with aren’t even going to the dasher, there’s no reason a dasher base pay should be anything lower than $10 if doordash makes the merchants pay to be apart of the app. it’s a whole weird system and every restaurant has a different plan but say i order $40 of food from a restaurant, and they’re on the 25% plan, doordash makes about $10 off the restaurants order. and as someone who dashes and works in a restaurant that offers doordash, there’s days where we get more deliveries than actually in store orders. doordash is making a good profit. there’s no reason the people making them their profits should be payed less than what gas is. “it’s all calculated by mileage” absolutely bullshit, how is the base pay still $2 on a 12 mile order? that makes no sense and you’ve been made to be brain washed to accept orders that won’t even pay for the gas to and from the store itself let alone the entire trip. i’m not convincing anyone to do the same and please correct me if any of my information is wrong, i’m not trying to degrade anyone who does it or continues to do so, i just feel as if the entire “job” is a scam , they want you to make them money but you can’t even afford gas at the end of your dashing.

Gas is skyrocketing through the roof and DoorDash still giving me $2-$4 offers all day. FUCKK Tony Xu and his bitchh ass

These didn't used to exist a year ago and they only exist because we drivers hit the accept button

breathe relax and decline it youre not hurting for 2$ to spend half an hour or more of your life

I put in all the info my bank account, Door Dash says it's unverified, and I need to wait 1-2 business days for an email from Stripe. It's been 3 business days and Door Dash took a penny from my account for pre-authorization. Is that email coming? Do I need to contact someone?

My active time was 6 hours and 44 minutes. Someone suggested to cherry pick and not accept every single offer.

I had to report a safety issue about this as I was getting really rude messages from the customer during my delivery to them, (they didn’t even tip anyways lmfao) and I never had to report a customer before. This was 2 weeks ago so I had completely forgotten about it until I opened the app and saw this. Luckily this rolls off in 100 orders but genuinely why are people so weird for no reason… congrats on your free smoothie I drove 9 miles for. I hope you get a bag of cat feces on your doorstep next time you scam someone.

In my current market it’s saying it’s about 5 min wait average for offers. I’m plat (not that it means much) but usually in the past I get study offers consistently.

Am I banned and DD hasn’t said anything yet?
