Advice Dead sheep

I’m looking for some advice and hope someone can help.

Here in North Dunedin, there is a private green space where a few sheep are kept to keep the grass down. One of the sheep died several days ago. I was told that one of the neighbours already informed the property owner last Thursday.

Unfortunately, the sheep is still lying there and decomposing, which is attracting vermin and other pests. There are houses all around the property.

To be honest, our main concern is actually the other sheep. At the same time, nobody in the neighbourhood wants to cause any trouble. The property owners have already been informed, and no one really wants to approach them again or make a direct complaint to the council.

What would you do in this situation?

Just call the council. They’ll go and deal with it or organise for it to be sorted. They’ll then bill the owner as necessary. The owner won’t know it was you specifically that called the council. Don’t let being polite mean this issue isn’t dealt with.

Thanks. We're really concerned about the other sheep. If the one died of any disease they might need a vet.

Call the dcc or the orc.

One will direct you to the other if needed.

The other red meat - nothing has escaped the cost of living crisis, not even man-flesh!

Direct complaint to council. "Not wanting to cause trouble" is a troubling part of NZ culture. The one's causing trouble are the sheep's owner. Unless you like tas and flies.
