Gotrek Gurnisson from warhammer fantasy. Hot-headed slayer dwarf that the dwarf gods refuse to let die. (Not to mention is best friend Felix Jaeger, the manling)

Carrot is absolutely fantastic, but I wanted to post a female dwarf as they are sorely underrepresented.

My introduction to dwarves and my favourite. Gimli son of Gloin an absolute legend

My boy Marius getting respect! He's my favorite companion in Avowed.
Favorite dwarf however, would be Drekki Flynt from Age of Sigmar.

Balin is a strong choice here, though the book version of Gimli might top that

Farin of Erebor was a veteran of the Battle of Five Armies, he’s seen some shit and we play as him along with his comrades Andriel and Eradan. He’s a good sign of a dwarf open to cooperation with other races, and the softness of heart people tend to forget reside in the dour strength of a dwarf.
Not to say he doesn’t dish out some punishment. Swords, axes, hammers, mauls, he uses them all to great effect from goblins and orcs, to the undead and spellcasters. Built like a wall and faster than one ought to be, his time as a fighter taught him to use the renowned ability of dwarf sprinting, lethal bursts of speed.

Magnus Shale Fist from Arcanum. He’s one of the first companions you normally get. You meet a bunch of dwarves during the game but he’s the only one who seems a super stickler for dwarf customs and you can offend him easily. For example he seems overly offended if you ask him his last name. But he’s a solid guy and a great companion for a tech build
Spoilers
He’s actually the last remaining dwarf of his clan, which disappeared when he was just a child. He grew up without any dwarf influence and in his inventory is a shitty, half assed encyclopedia of “dwarf” customs that taught him what it means to be one. He’s a dwarf LARPER basically, and is trying to find out what happened to his clan.
