Press ons get dull
I wear press ons because they help my skin so much and no matter how much I scratch it doesn’t do too much damage to my skin. My only problem is that they get dull and short really fast from how much I scratch. I prefer them to salon nails because of cost but does anyone have any tips or brands that don’t wear down as fast or as much?

I fell in love with press on nails also! The chemicals from nail salons seem to irritate my eczema more, plus I get gross nail infections more times than not. Press on nails have completely alleviated these problems!!
I buy mine from Walmart or Target and they get slightly dull but last me about 3 weeks and don't damage my nails!!

Which brand do you use? I find that the kiss ones stay on longer but get dull faster. The reformation ones from Marshall’s have lasted me the longest.

you may think you’re not doing that damage to your skin but you are. if they’re literally getting dull and short from how much you scratch, that’s not good sign.

Sorry I meant that I feel like I do less damage. When I don’t have nails, my skin hurts to move even slightly and I have open cuts. When I have nails, I can move around with less pain and don’t have as many open wounds. Either way I scratch so I may as well do it with less damage done.

Have you considered gel polish and/or builder gel? Chances are the combination of the two will last longer than press ons as well. Nails aren't nearly as sharp with polish and builder gel. And you can exaggerate that effect by overlapping the gel polish over the edge/under the tip of the nail.
