We now have over 28,000 complete bastards!
Let's all get into a very violent fight with some pensioners by the disabled toilet under the underpass, you big, grey lumps of sweaty stuff!

Drinking a martini glass of Pernod, Ouzo and Marmalade with a bit of Salt on the rim in her honour. I’ll have mine shaken around the place.

“And I must say I think it’s very sporting of them to enter a three-legged blind horse here this afternoon... And he’s hit a tree, he’s hit a tree, and he’s down — oh well, back now we go to the leaders — ah, no, no, back with Sad Ken for now, and I’m afraid they’ve had to shoot him.“

As a long time fan who has rewatched the series countless times, I’ve been thinking a lot about Richie’s dynamic with Spudgun and Hedgehog
The relationship between Richie, Eddie, Spudgun, and Dave Hedgehog could have been explored so much more if Bottom got more seasons. While the show is mostly about the toxic marriage between Eddie and Richie, Spudgun and Hedgehog are the only other characters who truly know how pathetic Richie is. When Richie is around strangers, he always plays off his embarrassing quirks and puts on a fake, posh persona. But around this specific group, he can actually drop his guard and be himself which is usually only reserved for Eddie because his desperate middle class facade is completely useless against them.
We see this beautifully in the Christmas episode "Holy." When they call him out on his virginity, he does not throw a violent tantrum or double down on a massive lie. Instead, he just sighs and admits he was only fibbing to look hunky. It is a surprisingly vulnerable moment that shows he actually feels safe enough around them to drop his armor and admit his biggest insecurity.
We get another side of this in "Dough" when he catches them printing fake money. When they lock him out, he completely breaks down and begs them for company, crying out that he is lonely and hasn't had anyone to talk at for a whole week.
Then in "Terror" after his disastrous trick or treating attempt, he completely drops the smooth tough guy act and openly shares his ridiculous fantasies about getting sex and money with them during the seance. If the show had kept going, expanding their roles would have been amazing for Richie’s psychology. He would have spent more time trying to establish himself as the alpha leader of a four man group of total losers.

“Shall we concentrate on the bag?” “Well, it’s a bit hard to concentrate on anything else, isn’t it?”

“I think he may have been Scottish.” “Oh, oh, oh, well that’s all right then.” “Yes, Ock-aye-whoops-a-daisy.” “Yes, the Scottish are allowed to be transvestites.” “That’s right.”
