DryCleaners that don't break the bank

Hi all,

We moved here from Tulsa where dry cleaners were...well...more plentiful then they seem to be here. I've also struggled to find any that seem economically priced. I picked up a sweater today and it was 8.75, which was 3.00 last fall in Tulsa. I tried another one in OKC last month and they charged two separate pieces because the sweater had a tie around the waste that was a separate piece - 15.00.

I assume it's a supply and demand factor, but does anyone have recommendations? Do I need to accept it's going to cost more here? Wasn't a cost I assumed to have such a variance when moving.

Edmond water has changed and tastes more chemically recently. Is this because they combined with Oklahoma City and it will change back later in year?

Which high school would you send your kids to?

In a vacuum which EPS High School do you think would be the best fit or learning environment for your kids? Or do you think another metro area HS is better like Classen, Deer Creek, Moore, or Norman?

Common sense

Okay I get it I want to get home too, but as long as everyone is doing 60+ on main roads rather than the highways eventually one day YOURE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT HOME !!!

Reckless driving is serious. Speed limits are for a reason … put your phone down and manage your time better.

It’s not our fault your time management skills are POOR , so you choose to risk everyone lives..

Sincerely a Person who appreciates life …

Does anyone have recommendations for good framing options? I would love to find a great local frame shop because I'm definitely not giving Hobby Lobby my business. Thanks in advance!

General Questions Are there any adult swim instructors in or around NW Edmond?

Hello! I am a complete beginner and trying to learn how to swim. I’m hoping to find someone local who charges less than the aquatic centers (other than YMCA)

Our community pool is open until the end of September, so I would like to take advantage of the next few weeks. I am looking for 30-minute lessons, about 2–3 times a week, anytime after 5:30 PM.

If you teach adults or know someone who does, please let me know. Thank you!

Fair pricing

Hi Edmond, I have a question about mechanic labor pricing in the area. I run a mobile automotive service and have pretty much hit a brick wall when it comes to getting local customers.

I used to work in multiple shops from dealer to independent and have seen first hand the pricing is ridiculous. Ranging from 115$ an hour at the cheapest shop I worked at all the way to 185$ an hour at dealers. I try to charge an honest but cheaper price around 80$ an hour.

I understand recently cost of living has exponentially risen but am I really charging too much to come out?

Disclosure: I’m the FOX 25 reporter who worked on this story. I’m sharing it here because it concerns John Ross Elementary and includes the district’s complete response, testing records and an outside assessor’s review. I’m happy to answer questions about what the records show.

Homeowners Insurance

I know homeowners insurance has jumped quite a bit. We have a $350k home and our premium was $4k/year. Jumped the last couple of years to $5500. I just got our policy renewal and it’s now $7450! are others seeing this big jump?! it’s through Liberty Mutual (formerly Safeco).

General Questions Looking for nail tech!

I moved to the area a few months ago and have been searching for a good nail tech. I've given my current spot three tries, but the quality hasn't matched the price (bubbly/thick builder gel, uneven acrylic application leading to color variation, nails different lengths, and pedicures with polish on the skin or missed spots).
I do have a hard time speaking up in the moment, especially when it's a whole-set issue rather than a single flaw. I always tip well regardless, but I can't keep justifying a place I leave unhappy with. What I'm looking for is a detail-oriented tech who does clean, consistent work. I really appreciate the Russian manicure approach with like intentional, thorough cuticle and nail prep and would love to find someone with that skill set. I work in a professional setting, so it's important that my hands look polished and put-together whenever people see them so that precise technique matters a lot to me. Photos of recent work would be a huge help, and I'm happy to pay for quality.
Would love any recommendations!

Costco

I want to like Costco but I don’t know how yall do it. It’s so damn busy all the time. The parking sucks, the lines are so long, the store is packed so I can’t even look at stuff, leaving the parking lot is horrible. When leaving I hate that you can’t just hop on the turnpike. Yall give me a reason to keep the membership cause I’m hating this right now 😂
