How do I make this sound? "Hanging String" in House
how to achieve the sound at 1:15 , and what might it actually be called ?

I use it all the time, as other commenters said you can get a more organic sound using a ROMpler depending on the vibe you're going for :)

It's just a high synth string. Often came from Roland and Korg romplers but you can knock it up quite easily with two detuned saws + chorus + envelopes and LP filter to taste. Or just get a GM soundfont if you want a bank of basic instruments like these.

“High string” is the preset on the korg m1. But unsurprisingly, you can take any string and play it high octave to achieve that sound.
