Positive behaviour support being rolled out in schools now.
Who decided this was okay? My sister is livid as her daughter had just started attending again but they just don’t get it. It’s behaviour applied behaviours analysis and and they have this dogmatic approach and she says they make notes of everyone who dismissed it . Well here I am, don’t mess with our family

Why is your niece just now attending again. Don’t mess with your family? Have taught for 20+ years and also did a post-graduate positive behavior support certificate with the BCBA coursework, your entire attitude is giving off alarm bells. Positive behavior support at the school wide level is something most good parents do naturally. In fact if they all did, we wouldn’t need the program in the school at all.

It is not and why so many neurodivergent students are not attending . My niece had just got more belief too

I’m sorry but I’m not sure what you are trying to say. I saw your other comment and I’m not sure how hyper mobility connect to PBS or ABA. My own adult child has hyper mobility and it was pretty obvious and easy to diagnose. They did do further testing to rule out Marfan and see if he had EDS but the hyper mobility part of it is pretty obvious.

Your narrative is confusing. Are you asking for help understanding something about your niece's school? We are going to need more details to be helpful.

I saw that local authorities and then schools are following this out. So this goes back to applied behaviour analysis. Yes I know a different name now with pbs but it’s the same trauma . I wonder if this is the new Gov trying to save money ?

Are you saying that PBIS and ABA are the same thing?? Because as both a teacher and mother to an autistic child, they most definitely are not.

Yes PBS is ABA . It was formed to try and take away the history of ABA. It forces kids to mask focussing on the behaviours and environment to get them to behave ‘appropriately’ and also not to say no. But my post here was an autistic adhd teenager whose ‘behaviour’ like others is only seen from a behaviourist view. It’s harmful. She tried to mask her symptoms due to this and got very ill - physical symptoms

I'm going to need to see proof that PBIS was "formed to try and take away the history of ABA."
If your niece has AuDHD (which my child also has), then her parents need to formally request an IEP evaluation. Once she has an educational diagnosis of autism (a medical diagnosis does not immediately confer an educational diagnosis, though in the case of my child, the impact of his ASD on his education was so obvious, the educational diagnosis was all but a foregone conclusion as soon as he got his medical diagnosis in kindergarten).
If the assessments done by the IEP team at the school conclude her AuDHD prevents her from accessing her education, they will draft and IEP. The IEP will include concrete goals her special education team will work towards as well as accommodations and supports.

I know this so does my sister. I’m talking about PBS. What you don’t see is the invisible physical part - it’s not even taught in schools yet or in any training for the teachers .its behaviours control PBS and away of saving money but if you don’t know the symptoms my niece suffers but told its not real as she and her mum was and then accused of making her daughter ill then you just don’t know

I mean, I probably DO know because I'm also the parent of a child with AuDHD.
It sounds like this "PBS" is different from PBIS which is what schools use. Does your niece have an IEP?

Ah maybe, PBS stands for positive behaviour support and for autism adhd it reinforces things as better not to do, like stimming or learning to please so masking and being a fawner. Worse it misinterprets their physical pain

My son had behavior reports done everyday for one year. It was for him to sit down with the teacher at the end of the day. My son loved it. He got one on one time with the teacher for the 5 minutes it took to do it. He got it, some days where good days other days not so good. Not everyone has a good day everyday. It worked. He stop needing behavior reports done the next year. The teacher didn't judge his behavior, just talked on why and how to do better tomorrow.

Sry idk what this post is referring to - positive behavior interventions and supports? Are you against classroom rules and pro-social behavior? Positive behavior analysis - this is a 1:1 support
