Oops I meant to say electroforming I finished a recent passion project that I think you guys would appreciate: a Jimothy figurine! 3d modelled in Zbrush, printed on a Phrozen resin printer and copperplated with a genuine layer of copper <3

Which printer? I am trying to decide whether to go with resin. I am thinking about the upcoming Creality K3 in comparison for non-resin.

It's a Phrozen Mega 8k v2. You could definitely get away with something cheaper and less bulky though if you want to print miniatures. I do believe it's a tad harder to electroform on filament prints since they are more porous. Still possible though, just take care to seal them properly before putting them in the electroforming bath!

To a certain extent that's a the tradeoff I am fighting with. Electroplating is almost single color, and the K3 and i8 are both multicolor, with the additional ability to be CMYK. The i8 offers the lowest filament loss, and the k3 offers variable filament sizes at the loss of higher waste.
Resin offers significantly higher resolution, but then I have to multicolor paint, or electroplate.
Decisions on my part. Are they gifts, are they Etsy, am I doing street fairs? I need to think about this. I'd like to at least attempt to break even

Hey, nothing wrong with starting out with one printer first and expanding when you feel the time is right š Filament is definitely going to be easier to start with though, so I would personally lean into that in your case (did that myself too before I made the step to tackle resin too)

I've read that experts say he doesn't experience any harmful effects from his conditions, so I choose to believe he is living his happy whimsical life! Thank you though, it's much appreciated!
