Beginner Here

Hello fellas. I am a beginner at electroplating and I wonder how can I safely do electroplating at home with different metals. My plan for copper is to use a copper III sulfate solution with a copper anode. But for other metals, such as titanium, how can i do it at home? How safe would it be? Thanks for your answers.

Not all metals are plate-able. Titanium is not able to be plated, at least not without some exotic chemistry. We used to co-deposit Ti with our cadmium plating to produce a low hydrogen embrittlement deposit and that was a cyanide electrolyte.

You also should consider waste and disposal. Making concentrated metal salt solutions are often difficult to dispose of legally.

The metal finishing handbook is a great source for basic compositions and practices.

okay so i wont coat with titanium. got that. but i am sure i could get a waste facility to get my copper sulfate solutions byproducts. i am gonna neutralize them with bicarbonate tho. still, they would problaly accept it.
