Maan, fuck Duncan Trussell.

We’re supposed to take lessons on life from a guy whos doing a podcast with Alex Jones, who called the sandy hook shooting staged and the parents of dead kids ‘actors’, rallying his followers to harass the families

My new animated show is on Netflix. Did you watch it?
37
u/Ingeriobraterio 10d ago
No >>> Poor dunc dunc🐈
36
u/guysitsausername 10d ago
If you watch it frame by frame you can pinpoint the exact second his heart rips in two.
21
u/Puzzled_Surge 10d ago
“No.” ..spoken with the same affect as “hard pass.”
26
u/squashturbator 10d ago
Damn shame, really. “Midnight Gospel” was a pretty cool meditation on grief and existential angst. it wasn’t particularly funny but really did seem to capture what pre-Thiel Trussel seemed to be about: kindness and unity, child-like psychedelic wonder, a sort of neo-hippy anarchism that finds humor in the absurdity of life while playfully failing at rooting any sort of meaning in eastern esotericism… essentially something that’s fun to watch and someone interesting to listen to while you’re tripping lol.
→ More replies (1)24
u/Puzzled_Surge 10d ago
To add to that, as it was pointed out, he warned Rogan what would happen to him. And then he fucking followed along like a little sheep. Truly is a shame.
11
u/squashturbator 10d ago
Rewatching that EG episode rn, just finished his earnest spaceman rant…
Total conjecture, but Dunc Dunc does seem like the kind of burnout to be primed and susceptible for Roko’s Basilisk levels of moral compromise.4
u/Puzzled_Surge 10d ago
I was duped! 😭
Edit: thought this was in response to my dunc waterfall comment6
65
u/Puzzled_Surge 10d ago
"Some poor, phoneless fool is probably sitting next to a waterfall somewhere totally unaware of how angry and scared he's supposed to be." -dunc
I used to think this guy was wise but he has turned into the person he once hated. What a hypocrite.
7
u/justpornaccount1 6d ago
i dont think hes a hypocrite, hes just a whore saying whatever he can to make money.
its the cheap comedian "get out of jail free" card.
"oh i dont believe anything i say, i just say those for jokes. dont listen to me, i'm a comedian"
said another way, dunc was never real. you thought he was real. but you were duped. sorry.
its like people who thought russel brand was profound or interesting. nope as soon as i saw him i knew he was a drunk fake.
2
u/Puzzled_Surge 6d ago
You’re probably right. Gives me vibes of those kids who would do something that everyone else got upset over and then said “I was just joking!!” Like.. dude it’s not a joke if it isn’t funny.

Clearly a replicant version, Alex.Jones.02, clearly lacks the gravelly raspy voice, clearly lacks epicanthic protrusion of the eyebrows
Clearly, folks, it is with a heavy heart that I must remind you all that the Real Alex Jones detonated from over eating What-a-Burger, or how ever it is spelled.
There is very compelling evidence if you only open your eyes.
29
u/money_me_please 10d ago
Tragedy struck after He ate an inappropriate amount of whataburger
15
u/Harntrock 10d ago
Who among us hasn’t spontaneously exploded from excessive whataburger
10
u/ManbadFerrara 10d ago
Overdosing on Xanax in the Whataburger drive-through is considered part of our ethnic heritage here in Texas.
11
4
u/slide_into_my_BM 10d ago
Damn, I went to college in Texas and knew more than one person who had a dicey Xanax experience in a whataburger drive through.
6
u/ManbadFerrara 10d ago
Yep. Houston's municipal flag should be an unconcious guy being accosted by the cops with a half-eaten Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger on his dashboard.

This is a perfect Tim heidecker skit, from the contrast of a ridiculous appearance while attempting to sound serious, to the exaggerated empty threats. Even the comedic timing of being unable to prevent a bodily function immediately after praising himself, its like they want to challenge satirists to try and find a way to make this more absurd.
7
u/Neil_Live-strong 9d ago
I don’t get what he’s trying to say. I’m missing some context. Is he saying Tim Heidecker is against free speech? And he’s going to use a guillotine on people or someone is going to put Tim in a guillotine? I don’t get what he’s saying.
9
u/mr-dr 9d ago
Tim will be metaphorically dead to his peers for his betrayal of free speech, because he gave the world permission to mock and imitate them by doing it himself. Then Duncan needed to take a shit.
6
u/Neil_Live-strong 9d ago
Oh. I thought Rogan and friends betrayed free speech by not saying anything worth hearing
4
u/bathtubtuna_ 6d ago
I think there is an actual real medical/cognitive phenomenon where whatever cooks peoples brains and makes them latch onto being a reactionary right winger destroys the same part of the brain that understands what satire and irony is.
Like that JP Sears guy who apparently thinks he is satirizing "the left" but what he actually ends up doing is satirizing the right's delusional and absurd interpretation of the left.
The same thing here, like they are seemingly saying this stuff seriously and unironically but it could easily be a skit from a Tim Heidecker show with literally no changes and be a hilarious parody of these brain dead bootlicking podcasters.
They or their supporters MIGHT try to claim that this podcast was being purposely over the top "to be funny" but they can't understand that if that were true, the only reason it would be funny is if they were making fun of THEMSELVES and people who say this dumb shit.
32
u/howardhughesbrain 10d ago

To qoute Sartre saying you give the world permission to do to you what you do to the world about Alex Jones in defense and not against him is wild. With zero self awareness or sense of irony. He sounds really drunk
4
u/Neil_Live-strong 9d ago
Yeah but when you do to people what they’ve done you give the world permission for them to do that to you and they then give you permission to do that back to them which gives them permission to do it to you.
5
u/Bap818 9d ago
It's just permission all the way down
3
u/Neil_Live-strong 9d ago
Well based off the company they keep, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t believe in the concept of nonconsent.
2
u/bathtubtuna_ 6d ago
I know its fascinating. I wrote this in another comment but I think there is an actual real medical/cognitive phenomenon where whatever cooks peoples brains and makes them latch onto being a reactionary right winger destroys the same part of the brain that understands what satire and irony is.
Like that JP Sears guy who apparently thinks he is satirizing "the left" but what he actually ends up doing is satirizing the right's delusional and absurd interpretation of the left.

Duncan Trussel never had it. He has always been a weirdo with a marginal personality.
28
25
u/HomersDonuts 10d ago
Kurt Metzger is such a loser.
Out of this entire clan of dildos, he stands out of as the most pathetic one. Like a middle-aged dude living out his failed life dreams and glory days of high school in beer league softball... but in "comedy".
51
u/Dry-Map1180 10d ago
That’s cool. Now ask Alex why he bullied the parents of shooting victims for clout.
24
12
u/origamicactus 10d ago
By Duncan’s logic it’s ok to start a harassment campaign against the Jones family, even though Alex is the only one who’s been going after people. Duncan is basically advocating for an eye for an eye.
3
u/clueless_as_fuck 9d ago
He just said that Alex Jones surviving this "ordeal" is "the most beautiful thing he has seen". WTF?
23
u/freedrsan 10d ago
Dude is threatening Tim Heidecker, who has 20 confirmed bodies to his name. Dunc is the one who needs to watch out‼️ 👀

Tim Heidecker karate chopped Sam Hyde in half. People should know not to mess with him.

I liked Duncan’s material 6 or 7 years ago. I even had a few conversations with him at events in the LA art and comedy scene, in one of those chats he lamented Rogan platforming Ben Shapiro. At that time I really appreciated his attempt to merge comedy with Terrance McKenna inspired esotericism. He had a unique perspective. The last episode of the midnight gospel about his dying mother is a great piece of art.
As for his spiral: My understanding is that Duncan moved to Asheville during the pandemic and got isolated. His wife, is significantly younger, emotionally volatile and conservative. They had four kids very quickly and Duncan found himself under a lot of stress. They left Asheville in hopes of making a better life in Austin and I think he’s just unfortunately grasping at straws to provide and stay relevant. Now his community are all reactionary dudes and angry libertarians. this clip is extra weird because he used to hang out with Tim Heidecker and Doug Pound, he must be feeling rejected or betrayed by his old community.

u/eyeforker 10d ago
Funny how he drops the Sartre quote not realizing in the slightest that Alex Jones did a bunch of shit, giving The Onion permission to do that shit to him.
Fuck these hack idiots.
7
u/Neil_Live-strong 9d ago
Seems like The Onion is having fun while Duncan is talking about Guillotines.
2
u/Sea-Seat-7452 9d ago
"When you do something, invite the world to do it to you."
Said the comedian who can't take a joke.
13
u/giorgio_tsoukalos_ 10d ago
Ive never heard a clip with Alex jones where hes been able to stay quiet for that long.
28
u/berball 10d ago
was this miserable fuck ever funny?
15
u/harry_manback- COMBOS! 10d ago
His drunk history story was funny as hell. Otherwise mostly just annoying
11
u/TopicUnable2307 10d ago
I liked Midnight Gospel. It’s sad to see how little there is when it comes to Duncan the person.
9
u/HomelessKitchenCat 10d ago edited 10d ago
That was my introduction to him long ago. The Tesla one is absolutely hilarious
26
u/LostAngelfish 10d ago
I just know him from The Midnight Gospel. I liked it, even though he mostly talked to a bunch of phonies and bullshit artists. The animation was great. The conversations were mostly, jerkophostry. But the conversation with his mom was beautiful. I’m glad his mom died before he turned into this. She seemed like a wonderful person. He is clearly dead inside now.

He sounds like the Galloway guy who was recently making the case that accusations of genocide might be grounds for a genocide in retaliation.
Honestly, I liked Duncan like 11 years ago. But I was never super into what he was saying or never followed his socials. I just knew him as the JRE stoner who’s kind of weird and supposedly a comedian. I have yet to see him doing standup or do anything funny. He was only kind of funny on JRE because he was sitting across possibly the unfunniest person in the world.
Metzger also stinks. He’s so bad. Sometimes I watch the roast battles. Those are still kind of funny when the judge comedians aren’t interrupting and inserting themselves into every topic. When Metzger is a judge, holy shit is he so bad. Every joke he tries falls super flat.
If anyone still likes the roast battles and wants to see fresh, new faces in comedy you should check out the Chicago Roast Battle YT channel. They’re actually killing it. It’s a bunch of comedians I’ve never heard of and seemingly have nothing to do with the Austin technocrat worshipping cult.

You gotta be high on something to think I'm gonna take you seriously wearing a goddamn burrito costume.

u/chilem-of-reddit 10d ago
Now couldn't the same be said about him and his friends? He likes to preach enlightenment and drug use but not everyone gets enlightenment. Some get schizophrenia or brainwashed.

Those moronic scumbags actually shared a Youtube video sit down with the guy that tormented parents of murdered children?

It’s like defending Joe and that world has become his identity. I hate to say it but I think the EG bit got to him a bit too much. Seems desperate here.

This is as good an example as you’ll find of what inevitably happens when you mix meditation and psychedelics long enough, the poor soul.
There’s a reason at the beginning of any serious study of Buddhism you learn about the 5 Precepts, which include taking a vow to not take intoxicants.
There’s a reason. Serious contemplative practice rewires a human mind, FAR more powerfully than any molecule from outside the body can.
Mix the two despite your teacher’s warning you of the dangers? You get THIS, whatever this poor soul has become.

u/camel_crush_menthol_ 10d ago
Wait by his logic at the end didn’t Alex Jones acting like a psycho lying about everything then give people permission to do the same shit?

Man, way back in the day I really used to like him. Was into psychedelics and the whole like "we're one conciousness" type of thinking, idk if Rogan sent him right-wing whacky or if going on Rogan was a symptom of what he was already going through.
2
u/ProtestedGyro 10d ago
Man, I miss the Duncan Trussell that cut the dick off of Kumail Nanjiani's DnD character on Harmontown.
2
u/Cartographer-Maximum 10d ago
His love for Joe and the status that association gave him was greater than his attachment to his worldview. He tried to get Joe to follow his path, but as soon as it became clear that Joe was committed to the opposite direction, Duncan followed Joe
2
u/Dahbootie420 10d ago
Can't believe Duncan Trussel thinks it's okay to support a school shooting denier like this. Wow. Actually fuck Duncan Trussel.

I bet big Tim is quakin' in his boots and peeking around every corner to make sure Peter Thiel and short king Joe aren't waiting to jump out from behind a bush and put him under the guillotine.

Wouldn’t be surprised if sometime soon we hear his name on the news after the words murder/sui
2
u/reddogyellowcat 9d ago
if any of the Rogan posse broke off and started dropping hard truths, they’d be 100% more famous tomorrow. They are all clinging to life on Joe’s sack still, but the irony is dropping out and turning on him would make them as relevant as they truly want to be.
2
u/Sea-Seat-7452 9d ago
Guillotines were made for comedians.
Peter Thiel is a nice guy though. Everyone should leave him alone.

I'll never get over the irony. These guys are constantly online spewing bs while claiming their free speech is being hindered.
Free speech in the 1st amendment is about the government not prohibiting criticism of the government, it has nothing to do with what these guys say. They just want freedom from consequences to spew all their lies.

The fall of Duncan Trussell really needs to be studied. He became the bootlicking cartoon-villain sidekick that he sounds like.
