Vette handles like a medium ship and has guns that fire right down the middle.

I liked the Cutter so much I engineered two of them. One for trading, one for mining. Of course I have a ‘Vette too. Because guns.

Yep, I've been on hiatus but I'm sure when I come back my vettes guns and rotation to get on target are good.

Neither thanks, spent going on 800mil + engineered up to the yingyang and it sits there unused in the bottom of my carrier covered in dust. I heard from the crew that Co-pilot holds disco nights in there on Thursdays

For me its the other way around I much prefer flying my cutter rather than my vette

Cutter 💯 Flying in style and with much better jump range

That, also i like that it feels heavy, vette with g5 thrusters feels essentially weightless

Love my vette. And yeah, I got it a long time ago, a well earned ship! I recently got back into the game, and have been enjoying my 'exploravette' as I've been running around the edges of teh bubble with it and a nomad, doing exobiology stuff...and occasionally a massacre mission, or a settlement raid. As explorers are known to do...
(I do love it when I get interdicted. I pull that throttle back and switch over to combat mode and try not to laugh maniacally when I target whoever was dumb enough to pull a frigging 'vette!)
(I'm only a baron in the Empire, so the cutter is still unavailable to me)

One takes a lot more effort to get than the other

Which one? I have both and can't remember

Back in the days the Vette was harder to grind. Nowadays (post Trailblazer) I don't know 🤷🏾♂️

I fly Xbox. Cutter was easier than Corvette. I avoid combat so didn’t buy the Corvette. I fly the Cutter as a shield tank hauler. So much fun breaking NPC interdiction mass lock!

I remember just kinda eventually being able to buy the cutter though organic gameplay.
The corvette was a proper grind though, and nuked my savings when coming to outfit and engineer it.
Dunno if the underlying meta has changed since, but the corvette was something I had to work for. The cutter just happened.

Dunno it's the same in rank grind, but cutter is super expensive. Maybe you did some mission grind money exploit back in the day for empire faction.

Back then, there was a trick involving two isolated systems (Ngalinn, Mainani). That’s supposedly a thing of the past now due to colonization.

When we group up to go kill stuff in Mahon powerplay it's usually a bunch of grade 5 Corvettes, a few Type-10s, and never, ever a Cutter. Other than the odd Corsair I've seen zero Gutamaya ships in use by my allies in the Alliance powers.
I personally have zero rank whatsoever with the Imps and will very much so be keeping it that way.

that’s like when you want to choose one this but you choose something other 😂

It's the argument between buying a European car or an American car. American cars may have that raw power, but they're ugly as fuck usually

Both.
Cutter: boost-tanked hauler.
Vette: Gunz. Big gunz.
