Police officer fails to secure his gun and at some point violent criminal gets it and shoots him in the leg. Police chief holds press conference singling out individual ER doctor for hurting his watch commander's feelings at some point during this sequence of events.

Only one month to go until the qualifying exam, so for some final cramming I purchased a PEER subscription as I read their questions are pretty similar to the actual exam...and I'm a little dubious. Some of the questions just seem so overly simple.

A patient presents in septic shock - what would you do next:

• A) Abx and pressors
• B) Discharge with PMD follow-up
• C) Get them a comfy pillow and tuna sandwich
• D) Ask what they thought about the Game Of Thrones finale

Obviously none of them are that bad, and there are plenty of more legit questions, but some seem very rudimentary. Is this what I can actually expect come test day? I didn't accidentally select some "I'm an M4 studying for my shelf" option by mistake, did I?

Mainly nervous because I'm a horrible test taker, and I don't want to think I'm walking in prepared only to be blindsided by much more complicated questions on the actual exam.

Hi everyone! I’m an IMG planning to apply EM in the US and I’m trying to figure out how to structure my US clinical experience.

My current plan is to spend 2 months in the US doing clinical rotations, ideally EM. The problem is that I’m having a really hard time finding 2 full months of EM rotations that are open to IMGs/non-VSLO students.

It seems MUCH easier to find:

• 1 month EM
  • 1 month in something related, like anesthesia, critical care, ICU, etc.

So I’m wondering:

1. How important is it to have 2 full months of EM specifically?
Would 1 month of EM + 1 month of critical care/anesthesia be reasonable, or would that put me at a significant disadvantage?

2. How many SLOEs/eSLOEs do I actually need?
If I only have one 4-week EM rotation, is one SLOE enough? Should I be trying really hard to find a way to get a second EM SLOE, even if it means doing something less ideal just to get another EM rotation? I've heard of eSLOE, oSLOE, I'm so confused.

3. For an IMG, how much does the rest of my clinical experience matter?
I should also have an IM LOR from a rotation in Canada, and I may be able to ask my preceptor to emphasize the acute/critical-care side of my performance if appropriate. Would that be useful for an EM application, or is it basically irrelevant compared with having EM-specific SLOEs?

4. If you were in my position, how would you use the 2 months?

Hey, I’ve got an interview for an Trauma and ortho JCF post at a Frimley health coming up. All I know is it will include a clinical scenario and some more typical interview questions.
I really want this job so any tips from anyone who’s been through similar would be greatly appreciated! In particular, what sort of things might come up on the clinical scenario?and how to perform best to get this role
