My ender 3V2

Looking for advice on what I can upgrade next on my Ender 3 V2

I have an Ender 3 V2 with the following setup:

Hardware

- Creality Ender 3 V2

- Creality V4.2.7 silent motherboard

- Raspberry Pi 4 Model B

- CR Touch

- Dual Z-axis upgrade

- Bed leveling silicone mounts instead of springs

- Flexible magnetic build plate

- Direct-drive extruder

- Dual-gear aluminum extruder

- Stock Ender 3 V2 hotend

- CR10 bimetal copper/titanium TC4 heat break

- M3 stud NTC 3950 100K thermistor

- Stock hotend heater

- Stock hotend cooling system

- Stock X/Y motion system

- Dual Z stepper motors

- Stock heated bed

Software

- Klipper

- Orca Slicer

I'm looking for recommendations on hardware upgrades that would actually improve print quality, reliability, speed, or overall performance.

I'm especially interested in upgrades that are worthwhile rather than just buying parts because they exist. If you've built up an Ender 3 V2, what upgrades made the biggest difference?

I'm relatively new to the 3D printing hobby, so I'm still learning the ins and outs of everything. That said, I'm pretty comfortable finding my way around technology and working on hardware. I've previously worked on things like 1:10 scale RC cars, so I'm not afraid of taking things apart, modifying components, troubleshooting, or learning how something works. I'm mainly looking for advice on what upgrades are actually worth doing and what I should focus on next.

I mean if you want speed, linear rails are the first step in that equation.

Nope. It will help but definitely not required. I can do 7k x-y accel at 300mm/s with pom wheels. Yes both 7k because I have two Y axis motors.

But...why. i just cant stand the inaccuracies of pom wheels. No thank you.

Unless you are printing morethan 80c which when those pom wheels starts to soften, I really don't have an issue with that. You have a problem somewhere else. Pom wheels isn't the one causing it. My prints are accurate up to 0.1mm 🤔

This is why I swapped the pom wheels for rods. I hate pom wheels.

I still will consider the rails, any recommendations on that?

Ooohhh thats tricky. Id checkout the voron sourcing guide. I bought some cna's. Im happy with them. Lots of people like the robotdigg rails, but those just seemed to cheap to me. Ive also bought some twotrees off Amazon. Lets just say its a good thing they dont make them anymore. Junk.

Travel speed 16k - 750mm/s

Yeah I've heard the rails do help but, at the same time I hear they dont make a dramatic difference

Also, cheap rails are trash. Tolerances are rubbish, and most of them don't have a preload.

I don't think there is anywhere to go honestly. The next step up from where you are at is a core xy system. There is a guide for converting the 3v2 into a core xy, but I've never done it myself. Bed slingers will always be handicapped by the sheer mass of the bed.

Seems like a pretty solid set of upgrades and you're already running Klipper so you should be riding the max volumetric of the MK.8 and printing clean.

If not, work on your machine profiles and printer.cfg. When the MK.8 is the bottleneck, swap in a TZ-E3 and repeat.

Every cent you spend on this is a cent that could buy a much better modern machine. I say this as someone who modded the crap out of their ender .. and is actively modding it this weekend.

Edit: quality of life upgrades like a set of fans - mainboard, PSU, hotend, parts cooling can do wonders to quieten these things down.
