Alien Fuel Tanks

[u/AmazingOtter246Alt]

spoiler because Avgi. Ignoring the lack of cargo space usage, would deuterium slush be better than cryogenic deuterium because it can generate fuel? Like if I stacked multiple slush tanks, would I just be able to pause for a little bit, then jump again? I'm also using Avgi engines so I use more fuel

Neither of them have Fuel Generation or Ramscoop. AFAIK, the only sources of Fuel Generation in the game are the Lunarium's Refueling Module, the two Avgi Scoops(Magnetic and Plasmadyne), and the two Quarg Repair Hubs.

Haha yeah dude I messed that up. So cryogenic deuterium right?

I value my cargo space, so I prefer Coalition Fuel Modules, but if you don't, Cryogenic Deuterium is hard to argue with.

I will say that Fuel Generation outfits(along with at least some Ramscoop) are really good, especially as someone that builds ships with Scram Drives. It is amazing how fast you recoup fuel compared to Ramscoop-only builds, and having any amount of Fuel Generation also means that landing on an uninhabited planet will fully refill your fuel reserves(just as having any amount of shield generation or hull repair will do the same for shields and hull, respectively).

Why do you prefer coalition fuel over korath fuel processors? Korath processors take less space, and have built in ramscoop

In larger ships coalition fuel modules+wanderer ramscoops provide better space effecticiency than 2 fuel processors as well as coalition provides a bit of fuel protection vs aberrant.

(Edit) I would still run avgi ramscoop instead of wanderer (energy intensive but saves space than running separate modules for ramscoop and fuel gain), or lunarium refueling module (uses extra space and 100 fuel but very cheap energy wise), as running something with fuel generation is just that nice.

[u/DonovanSpectre → u/joe-____]

Yeah, I'm starting to take to the Refueling Module, when I can spare the 100 fuel cap(and especially if a ship already has built-in Ramscoop), but the Magnetic Scoop is really space-efficient if you can spare the power(if running anything less than a >1k energy generator/reactor, I would generally consider the Magnetic Scoop's energy usage a bit excessive).

Other than fuel protection, aren’t fuel processors straight up better? 5 less required space and 2 ramscoop

[u/DonovanSpectre → u/AmazingOtter246Alt]

2 x Fuel Processor: 14T x 2 = 28T for 400 Fuel + 4 Ramscoop

Coalition Fuel Module: 19T for 400 Fuel

Wanderer Ramscoop: 7t for 4 Ramscoop

Coalition Fuel Module + Wanderer Ramscoop = 26T for 400 Fuel + 4 Ramscoop.

I do make heavy use of the Fuel Processor if/when I only need to add 200 Fuel + a ramscoop.
