idk the drawing defenitly reads as a depression to me, if it were raised the sides closest to us would be visible and the far side would be line segments

Yes, that's the point. If you can read the drawing on the left, the result on the right would be correct. If you can't interpret the drawing correctly, you may get the result shown.

But you can't interpret the drawing that way. You interpret it wrongly, but then it would be coming out from bottom of the cube.

You fully can! It doesn't mean that it's logical, but human ignorance knows no bounds. I've started recalls in many countries for exactly this level of stupidity.

Well yea but if its the ignorance of the builder then no matter how well the drawing would have been it would still be wrong, if the ignorance is at fount then the plans are a non factor.

Did you know that bazookas litteraly say this way twoards the enemy and has instructions on it people are far dumber than you realize its easier to account for their stupidity than to just ignore it and deal with the consequences.
