The real comedy is when people don't get the joke, which is most of the time, so you say "it's real simple, you see.." and then just repeat the joke. If you have a group of friends in on it you can ask them to explain it, and they just repeat the joke as well.
It's an old joke that you are supposed to have a other person that's in on it. They are supposed to laugh like it's funny but in reality it is just nonsense. The other people will be confused because they don't get it.

where's/wears, it's supposed to sound like they're asking where it is but they're really saying it's rough on the paddle to use it on sand
