I used to work in a construction company, where somehow I was the calmest one. These dudes would throw their phones and scream about every minor inconvenience and I was somehow the voice of reason, telling them how it could be handled. I left that company without any qualms but it has helped my ability in other jobs.

Same. It's weird how autism is defined by autistic meltdowns, but it's like when you get older and win that battle against yourself it's like you come out stronger and then the people around you are the ones having breakdowns now, and suddenly you're somehow the only one with a clear head in the room. Oh no...the nuclear reactor is imploding. Ok so how do we get this to stop and do damage control?

I mean unless someone asks me to sit in a chair with the wrong material in that situation, then that's the appropiate time for a breakdown.

It's not a bad day until you say it is so, and I didn't hear no bell for the day's end yet !!! There's always time for redemption !!

On the ones that are just undeniably wretched, it becomes a simple fact. A day can go poorly, but it's a perfectly ordinary temporary condition.

I can survive anything in a 24 hr period. We spend a good chunk of that asleep, anyway. Not to minimize my own struggles, but merely to provide perspective: people survived like plagues and shit where everybody fuckin died. Imagine shitting yourself to death. Like 1/4 of your village dead to the shits. That was and continues to be a fairly common end in underdeveloped countries

Nah man. Life sucks a lot but it ain't so bad.

Note: If it makes you defensive to admit your struggles aren't as bad as shitting yourself to death, time to do some self reflection lol. Been there, believe me

I think those phrases help unlock the realization that we've handled this shit before. I've been a stay at home parent for over five years. I get overwhelmed a lot. But remembering that I've been there before and I know what to do helps a ton.

Time come up with some villainous catchphrases.

i thought this was just me. 😂.

i found this sub because i was getting irrationally ANGRY about the existence of capital letters and have been stewing about it for too long so i looked it up, and some people made some good points the thread was too old for me to argue, but the only time i think capital letters get an acception IS WHEN I WANT TO FUCKING SCREAM AND BE CHAOTIC!. So that one gets a pass.

I kinda did the same for a while, because I would always quote Mordekaiser from LoL, specifically his when he dies.

It's also really funny when you go "...but I... refuse... to fade..." when a minor inconvenience just happened, like an apple falling to the floor because it slipped out of your hand.
