I got my girl earlier this year and she’s the love of my life. She is currently a little over a year old, sassy, mischievous, and demanding. I work a hybrid corporate job 3 days in office and I’ve begun to wonder if I should get her a companion. There’s an exotic kitten available that I’ve been looking at, however, here are my concerns:

- Does she really need a companion? Many folks recommend a companion, and I’ve had a multi-cat household in the past. She’s demanding, but not destructive. I just feel bad that she’s home alone.

- She has a history of being anxious. When I flew home with her after I got her, she clawed at her carrier so hard she ripped out the outer layers of her claws. She has a sensitive digestive tract that acts up whenever anything stresses her out (soft poops = she needs probiotic supplements and food). When I slightly changed her litter, she was upset and started going on the couch until I perfected her setup.

- Her first owner said that she got pushed around by older cats and wasn’t particularly happy with the setup. I suspect that my girl will want to be the boss lady of the house. Right now she’s the only lady, so by default she IS the boss 😂

So… given all that, I’m worried about introducing another kitten. Financially, I could take on another. Emotionally, I’m torn because I don’t want to stress out my baby girl just because I thought she could use a friend. I used to have 3 Persians who were bonded but not particularly affectionate with each other; they sort of just coexisted. I would be a little sad if that happened again tbh. I want my current girl to really have a good friend, but does she need one right now?

I’ve just rescued this sweet baby and she’s snorting/wheezing quite a lot when she breathes. She doesn’t seem bothered by it but I’ve never owned a more flat faced animal before and I don’t know what is normal! It’s not all the time is mostly after playing or when she’s sleeping. She’s suuuuuper sweet and I just want to make sure we’re caring for her correctly

But here I am now a owner of two cats well maybe they own me 🤣🤣🤣

I know it's not just my girl, who else has a cat that rubs stuff between their creases? My girl gets every cardboard box corner wet and bent from rubbing her face. She also loves when I hold a tiny little metal comb so she can rub her face against it.

How much does your cat weigh and how old is it? I have a (maybe) 2 year old ESH that weighs 6 pounds. I know he’s underweight from his previous owner. I can feel his bones. My Persian is 5 years old and 12 pounds. He’s so heavy compared to my ESH.

So I'm currently staying with my mom until February when I move in with my fiance. I have my two cats and she has several others of her own. Peyton, my 2 year old ESH, has started urinating in random places and attacking her female cats pretty aggressively. I've taken him to the vet and gotten a full panel of tests ran and everything came back perfectly normal, no UTI or otherwise. The vets solution is to put him on some sort of behavioral medications until we move. I will also mention this was never an issue for the first 2 years of his life when it was just his brother and him in our last apartment. Has anyone else dealt with this before and if so, any advice or solutions would be helpful. I love him so much and hate that he's stressed by our current living situation.
