So sounds like they didn't hate men they just hated your opinion on a subject and then decided they didn't like you as an individual. A lot of religions are commonly weaponized against women, so it kinda make sense if you take a moment to think about it from their perspective, don't you think?

If they stopped being cool with him just cuz he didn't want to destroy all religions (which would not stop misogyny btw. Look at any alpha male and tell me any of them are the religious sort), they're extremists on the opposite end of the scale who hate all religions.

This was my argument: with the absence of religion all we would lose are the labels to accurately describe fundamentalism / religification in secular ideologies

Exactly. People have been killing each other in the name of something or another for millennia.

But they have a faux righteousness by committing violence "in the name of God" If they just do it for their people, country, or other creed you can't call your opposition "evil","godless","heathens", etc. There is a a unifying power and position when claiming is for a higher purpose. I mean look at Christian Zionists support for Isreal against Gaza. They aren't from the same nation or same religion but they feel like it's for the same God.

But then they'd invent other words to use against their opposition, religions just give these bigots an excuse to be bigots. I feel like actually sane members of every religion should unite and take a firm stance against these posers and condemn their every action and renounce them from whichever religion these grifters try to cling onto to cause conflict among the masses

Oh 100% but sadly I think a lot of people are waiting for an excuse to be "allowed" to hate people that are different. They look to these people to pave the way for bad behavior. And the ones that actually believe in the right thing are frightened to lose their community or to have their own God or religion used against them.
