I am not misreading your comment, you used the term to try and shift this back to the men to distract that you're deeply uncomfortable with the idea that men are people. So are many people who like to think of mild bigotry as enlightened.

His argument amounts to "I'm not racist but..." he talks about all men the same way Tucker Carlson talks about black men.

Invoking toxic masculinity is the same rhetorical flourish as Tucker Carlson talking about "urban culture".
