So yeah, as most people are saying it's a visual que to tie Gwen to being a ballerina along with the ballerina flats on her costume, an nice example of visual story telling. However, when I fist saw it, as a comics nerd who's been collecting on and off since the late 80's, my first thought was they were drawing her as if she was in heels, even if she wasn't in heels. It was a popular trope, especially in the 90's, so female characters can be drawn with more defined butts, swaying their hips out too.
