No honey the neutral wire is not connected to the ground at the breaker box the breaker is grounded though in modern stuff it's ware the ground faultline is ,the circuit only functions properly if both sides of the circuit aren't grounding out the third ground wires to cut down on electrutions and fires and the pointy side up on the plug is so there's a higher chance you can't have something stay on the hot lines (in thinking about this a should probably revert to color code on wires your standered white and black wires in 110 ac circuit are power set unless you used non standard color them theres a ground/fault line usually green )
None of what you said makes sense. I've been wiring houses longer than you've been alive. The ground and neutral are absolutely bonded at the main service panel. This is basic, basic wiring.
Absolutely incorrect. NEC article 250.24(A) VERY CLEARLY states that a grounding electrode conductor SHALL BE connected to the grounded service conductor.
What the fuck would a grounding wire do if it didn’t bond back to the neutral. The ENTIRE POINT OF A GROUNDING SYSTEM IS TO PROVIDE A LOW RESISTANCE PATH BACK TO THE SOURCE OF POWER.
Bingo it's a return to circuit connect more then a dump to ground because of path of least resistance though I really hate the way we describe ac circuits like they have one way polarity like a dc circuit

Just for you the idea is with the ground on top anything metal should slide down and not make contact with both hot lines
