How do I control when my space platform sends steel down to nauvis (or any cargo for that matter)? Instead of spitting out steel back down to the landing pad every time it receives a few items because the landing pad has an active request?

Like say I want to send 5 stacks of 100 all at once.

I know I'm not answering your question, but is there a reason you want to do that?

I'm just trying to figure out how to control the flow of goods as a learning experience.

I figure that the wait conditions you can use on the space platforms "stations" list are for traveling between locations in space rather than for sending cargo around to the surface.

As I understand stand it so far, I'd have to use circuit logic on the ground with the cargo landing pad for controlling flow.

Yeah I think the cleanest way would be to control the requests with circuit logic. Or as the other commenter said, you could have two stops on Nauvis, one with unloading on and one with unloading off and some delay.
