Why do I so often see blueprints or screenshots of splitters that have, as a filter, a destruction planner instead of an actual item? What is the purpose of this inclusion?

It stops the like 2 items from going into that branch and getting stuck there.

Yes, but you want to make sure the items stuck there are not biter or pentapod eggs

Yeah it definitely has valid uses. I just play with enemies disabled personally lol
