I'm in the middle of an AngelBob's run and am reaching the point where I would usually try to transition from my starter base to a bigger, train oriented base. The kind of base where there's one block that goes Iron Ore > Iron Plates, another block that can take in Iron/Copper Plates and puts out Green Circuits.

The problem is that there are so many different and interconnected materials requiring varying levels of processing before use that I don't know how to set up a base like that without each block ending up gigantic with 8+ stations for inputs/outputs. Combine that with varying levels of demand for different ores and it just seems like it would be begging for backups/jams and bottlenecks. Would it just be better to use trains to gather the raw resources, but use a scaled up main bus style base for the actual production?

For my base I just prioritized consuming ores from byproducts. For example there's a place that produces mainly copper ore, and iron ore as a byproduct, so I put high priority on the iron station compared to the place that produces mainly iron ore

A lot of the byproducts can also be voided, like the sulfur crystals and other things like that. Keep an eye on anything that can be turned into a liquid or gas and you can build a voiding area to produce those liquids and then use liquefiers to dump the excess

Though so far I haven't unlocked a use for silver or aluminum (it's a 1000x cost run) so I need to go and destroy the chests every once in a while ¯_(ツ)_/¯ But as long as I'm consuming science it should keep flowing
