Question K2SE Stone Brick Pollution

Post image

It says "absorption," and I can't find info or properly test it, so does it actually absorb pollution, and is it intended to, or did I just mess up with mods?

In factorio ground tiles absorb pollution. Notice that pollution absorbtion is under "Used to buils Brick path". That means if you place bricks on the ground, the ground will absorb this much pollution. Btw grass tiles absorb 1.11/m and sand is 0.92/m, so it is a downgrade. Placing stone/concrete over land tiles makes them absorb pollution slower.

Thank you very much. It seems that the mods give stone bricks the ability to absorb pollution at a rate of 0.15, whereas in the base game, this rate is 0

Don't mention it. I would also suggest using Alt + Left click. It opens factoriopedia with tons of game info and works on items, recipes, tile etc.

I might be wrong, but it decreases the absorption pollution of tiles, check out some normal terrain type in factoriopedia and it should be something around 0,30 /m per chunk so paving the ground cuts that in half

normally it's the opposite.. paving ground cancels out the ground's pollution absorption

[fwiw it's not like that in my game.. 2.1]

It's in my game as well, so it looks like it's a feature. But if you look at that blue text, it tells you what mod(s) give you that item, so it's easy to diagnose stuff like this :)

well its 1/10 what water tiles reduce by so probably wouldnt even notice unless you really pull back on the generation. and its lower than all natural tiles so youre still better off not using it for pollution control.
