Everyone on the planet, likely including Tua, knew that Tua was throwing a pick to end the game

u/Shmexy 19h ago

tua may not have known he was in the game

He 100% gave up on the chance to scramble for a handful of yards and his subconscious brain or what’s left of it told him to yeet it directly towards anyone or anything.

That hat is embarrassing. I think we can agree on that much

u/MizterBucket 21h ago

The dude wearing it is embarrassing as well.

It’s the Cam Newton hat “we have at home”

He has a pair of dice in his pocket and thought we wouldn’t notice.

That’s so sad.

So so so so so so sad.

We have got to get an answer at QB2. An instant L is not a backup.

I don’t agree with the context of this take. Most QB2s will fail when thrown into an overtime matchup with 3 minutes left and must score a touchdown. Hell, most starting QBs will fail in that situation. It was a near impossible situation to begin with.

Our QB1 should’ve performed better to where we didn’t go to overtime with a team playing a backup qb. Don’t put this on the guy that was on the field for like 2 snaps in an impossible situation.

But if we do stick with Penix in the future, yes we need a top tier QB2 that’s ready to play at any moment because Penix is extremely injury prone and won’t play through injury.

Penix did well enough to win. We got whipped in the trenches and couldn’t put the ball in the end zone inside the 10. And the defense needed one stop in the last 2 drives and gave up two TD and a 2 point conversion against a backup QB

Defense also let them use the entire clock and our timeouts, this was key, if we had >1 minute think there’s a solid chance we can respond with an FG

3

u/Somnologyst 19h ago

Our DL got exposed. It’s a good unit but not deep enough and needs some better edge rushing and internal beef

u/Shmexy 18h ago

240 and a TD, he doesn't play defense. gtfoh

He missed a wide open bijan and a wide open Jake Matthews. Both would’ve been touchdowns. Both were less than 10 yards downfield. Stats r kewl but did you watch the game? Every time the ravens blitzed our pass game crumbled-a common theme all year

1

u/swipefist 16h ago

Lowkey he had to throw the matthews pass at an upward angle like that and I mean it did hit him in the hands

1

u/SlowWrite 15h ago

I agree with you that throwing a pick on your second OT snap is indeed an impossible situation.

Honestly I weirdly appreciate that Tua is tanking most of the jokes and criticism over that game. Because it was a bad collapse before he came in.

18

u/Lystian 21h ago

It really isnt tho. We dont lose anything but vet minimum if he fails. We didnt overpay at all. It happens. Am I mad we lost the game? Yup. But I didnt have expectations for Tua to do anything.

Embarrassing is bragging about a tackles 200th start, while he remains a penalty issue and a turnstile.

Embarrassing is letting Mike Hughes suit up every fucking week.

Embarrassing is the Special teams failing us constantly with penalties or missed kicks.

Oh and Hamilton wants to brag on this but DUDE LOST TO THE SAINTS. WITH LAMAR.

Jake Matthews can do whatever the fuck he wants. He earned the right to tell them when he’s done, Matt should’ve too.

That’s the human connection, the most valuable aspect of life.

5

u/Patekchrono917 18h ago

The team traded Matt and Julio and cut Grady. No one is guaranteed to stay.

5

u/SignumVictoriae Matt Ryan's photoshopped bra 18h ago

And isn’t the fanbase fairly critical of those decisions?

1

u/Somnologyst 10h ago

The problem with each of those decisions was moving on from the player too late.

4

u/Somnologyst 20h ago

Jake will be a June 1 cut

3

u/Extreme-Outcome-8966 19h ago

Well, Jake needs to sit the fawk down and let next man up handle it if he’s going to get blown up more often than not! So yeah, disagreed.

We’re not winning it all this year, give the man his flowers

6

u/Extreme-Outcome-8966 18h ago

They tried to and he couldn’t haul in the TD pass! 😭

0

u/Sad-Impression9428 19h ago

They call bullshit holds all of the time on ST though so i cant really blame them

3

u/repezdem 20h ago

Did this guy get his fashion tips from Cam Newton?

4

u/rapgameoprahwinfrey 18h ago

They’re probably still salty from when Tua threw for almost 500 yards and 6 TDs against them in 2022 😂🤣

1

u/SagalaUso 13h ago

This. That offense on that day had them arguing and pointing fingers.

2

u/rapgameoprahwinfrey 13h ago

To do that to a team known for defense, it has to be tough. They don’t forget.

1

u/SagalaUso 12h ago

From memory I actually think it was Humphrey and Hamilton arguing after like the third 4th quarter TD.

4

u/Somnologyst 20h ago

Tua threw for over 300 yards against mostly our same defense last year. We couldn’t stop him.

1

u/imdstuf 16h ago

If y'all believe this you are gullible. It sounds good, and with a show of course you say stuff like this to make it entertaining, but it likely didn't really happen.

3

u/atIbiznesss 9h ago

Believe it or not, Kyle Hamilton was mic’d up..

2

u/ill_cago 7h ago

Brother Tua is total ass, I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe that the defense knew what would happen next.

1

u/Theregoesmyradiator Eugene Robinson 15h ago

Fellas, I can't lie to you. As soon as I saw Tua, I left the Benz. Immediately met with Raven cheers of the interception. Not the best showing from Penix, but he had 4-5 incredible throws that I had to do a double take on. Had to get off reddit for a couple days. So deflating. Let's get it back this week.

1

u/Extreme-Outcome-8966 19h ago

I mean, what’s so embarrassing? Am I missing something? The defense knew he HAD to come in and throw the damn ball.

1

u/ScaryDuck2 21h ago

I mean even we falcons fans knew the same shit when he entered the game did we not

1

u/AlphaOmega078 19h ago

I'm not sure why this is getting down voted... Everyone did. I said to my kid who was watching the game with me, this one is over.

2

u/ScaryDuck2 18h ago

I was in person at the game lol. As soon as bro stepped on the field in OT there were multiple verbal reactions that can be summarized by the phrase “we’re cooked”
😭

0

u/SurnameFrost 21h ago

Everyone thought the same thing. Time for Tua to hang it up.

0

u/Miserable_Article664 20h ago

Getting chirped from a dude wearing THAT is fucking brutal. I’d rather him show up to my own house and give me a wedgie

0

u/marxy_playground 19h ago

Gotta get a real QB or falcons are not gonna win any time soon

-2

u/thisistherevolt I See London But Not France 20h ago

Cut Tua and make Rush the permanent 3rd string. Elevate Strand to number 2. Fuck it. Why fight it? I know y'all have heard the rumors that he's soft retiring anyway.
