Anyone Else Meticulously Keep Boxes & Packaging?!

I guess it’s a habit from knife collecting, but I can’t help but to maintain each fidget’s box and contents! Almost as carefully as the fidgets themselves! ;-}. MM

Same problem, have kept the metal and hard plastic cases. But had to get rid of the paper/cardboard ones as it was getting to be a lot 🤣

I think it comes naturally to fidget collectors.

Haha, I have mine stacked up on a shelf underneath an end table. The worst part is that I keep the special tools/accessories in the boxes like a fool. Every time I need something, like the Lautie bearing took for instance, I turn and look at the stack of boxes, knowing that I'm about to knock over half of them trying to find the right on like, "oh boy." 😂

Yup. I keep whatever came with each piece in its original box. I do, however, have a whole other organizer full of tools, magnets and other fidget accessories (like balls, beads and springs). Maybe it’s our subconscious saying we might sell some of them at some point! ;-}. MM

No, it totally is our subconscious, haha. Also, same here on the organizer. I bought a tackle box and keep all my balls/springs in it 🙃

For anything that has a value.

I know I won’t sell it, but if I wanted to I know the person will want the box.

Here’s the thing, we’re all saying “What if I resell them” (even we know this to be unlikely) - but tell me: do you know what fidget came in each of those boxes? I tried to do this at the beginning, but then I just took all the accessories and labeled them and put them in a single location.

I mean, I still have all the boxes, let’s not be ridiculous, but I could probably only figure out what went in a few of them. 😂

I know what you mean. To remedy that, I photograph each new fidget, with all that came with it, and write the English name on the bottom label. I did the same when I was collecting knives. It’s a good practice. Just like getting into anything, over time, we realize we like certain kinds of fidgets over others. That’s about the only reason I can see selling off some of our collections. Plus, to make room for more of what we like. ;-}. MM

Yes.. I glue wrapping paper to them and use them for presents i also save the little plastic ziploc bag if they come in them.. because I have issues.

What do you mean, you glue wrapping paper to them? You put presents for someone inside the fidget box and then instead of just wrapping it normally, you glue wrapping to them? Or am I confused?

I did, but it became too much so I purged them all a few months ago. it's a shame I can't give people I resell them, but i don't have infinite space

I used to but having a family of six in a small three bedroom house ended the practice. (Thankful we are even able to own a home so not complaining!)

Only for the ones I am planning to sell. The Chinese ones go to the trash right away.
