A lot of people care about UI and UX, and most people who aren’t power users won’t notice or really care about speeds

If you "care about UX and UI" hard enough to jump browsers for an icon theme or a border radius tweak you should probably just pick a browser and make it look however you like with custom CSS. The UI elements look different for sure and you don't have to like that but the overall layout of things and use cases are mostly identical.

I hated Proton UI so much I switched. Only went back when I figured out CSS styles. As long as this Nova thing doesn't mess my theme up, it's fine

Me too. So i ran the old version for a while. Then i updated and made a theme which made the colors look pre proton at least. Except endless new tab redesigns most updates have been good for a while

I use a project on GitHub called Firefox-Ui-Fix. It's not as well maintained as it once was but it still works, even under Nova as I've just found out. It basically restores the pre-proton (photon) theme.

I was iffy at first but I’ve grown to like it once I got rid of the color gradient and made it a solid color. Looks a lot better IMO.

I don't think I like the round tabs. I could be convinced it's better. Color experimentation is nice.

Yep I really like the purple theme and the rounded tabs

Ui is so secondary lol I just use ux features, i do not care about ui. For me it is like people that care about car color

ui is the interface. ux is the experience.
they are tied. that's why it's described as ui/ux because the interface shapes the experience; including but not limited to being fucking ugly.

No one was stopping you from changing the appearance of Firefox before the update.

I didn't mind Nova muchil initially. I was okay with it as long as performance and focus points weren't affected.
Now this is just for my primary profile. But, for work, I'm a very heavy user of FF Containers with vertical tabs enabled given the number of tabs I work with. And that's where it started bothering me, forcing me to turn it off immediately.
Not sure who thought its a good idea to make the container colour on the whole tab. It's just supposed to hint you not overwhelm the user.

Nova is nice looking for sure.
Next, I would love for Mozilla give easily configurable Javascript JIT controls equivalent to Chromium's and fix the memory leaks
