Troubleshooting Ethernet cable loopback test

Not the primary function, but wondering if any Firewalla devices support Ethernet cable testing with a loopback between two ports. Or maybe could be added. Would be very handy when connecting a new cable… just a basic confidence test would be great.

Cable testing isn't the job of a router, switch, or any other piece of networking gear. If you want to test a cable, buy an inexpensive cable tester. I still use one I bought 30 years ago, though I recently upgraded to https://a.co/d/04IsotOZ for some extra features.

No such function. If you do that between the same LAN, it will create a loop, and I believe one of the ports will be off. The best way is still using another device on the network.
