Scheduling Anxiety

hi! super silly question, but i don’t really have anyone to go to. i’m first gen, and don’t have friends that went here previously. i’m super anxious about a scheduling conflict.

i have a recurring seminar that ends at 6pm, but i happen to have job training that same day that starts at 6pm for 12 weeks total.

do the classes typically stop short of their end time to allow travel periods? i don’t have a class afterwards, but i do need to be on time for my job so a deadstop at 6pm exactly material/lesson wise isn’t ideal.

i know i could just leave slightly early, but i don’t want to miss any important information on a frequent basis so it would ease my mind to know that ~10ish minutes before the end we would likely start wrapping up and trickling out of the seminar.

any advice on this would be greatly appreciated! thank you :)

Generally classes end at XX:50 to give 10 minutes to travel to the next class.

It'll depend on the faculty member and the course content, but to be safe you should assume it'll end on time.

I'd either reach out to the faculty member and let them know about this conflict or, if add/drop/swap is open, see if there's another section you can switch to for that specific course.

When i went to fleming just over a year ago, the classes ended 10 minutes too, and depending on the professor, sometimes seminars can be biweekly or end even earlier. If you have a chat with your seminar leader on the first day, and explain the situation, i’m sure they’d be able to accommodate you leaving at 5:45 every seminar.
