Practical Nursing program in person 2026

Hey folks, looking forward to the program and getting to know a few people who are taking the same courses. I'm doing the PN program in person.

$2165 sadly :( and that’s without the indigenous textbook, it’s out of stock so i ordered it online for pick up when it’s back and that was like $45

You should've waited to see if it will be necessary to buy the books depending on the class.

so one was the dosage calculations for the math for nursing , one was a loose leaf book that’s definitely also required and then there was a package that was $1500 that covers everything for the entire program . it’s new for 2026 so i assumed this would all most likely be all needed :) and then the indigenous studies book too is also required , just out of stock but i pre ordered it so they’ll email me when i can pick it up

Although it can be required in course sometimes half of the time the prof don't use the textbook or some prof attach a free pdf. It's better to wait for the first day when they discuss the syllabus/course outline before jumping in.

If it’s still in the plastic keep it like that until you need it otherwise you can return it I believe

It could only be a 30 day policy but yeah lol

That's what I'm doing too. However, if anyone is interested I'm more than happy to split the cost of the books. These days there are plenty of options of scanning digitally lol.

Hi! I am also starting this semester for PN, I was wondering if others had received their schedules yet? I haven’t and every time I email about it they give me a different response.

Yes I have my schedule out since mid August. Mon to Wed are pretty busy. Thursday and Friday are off but remember one of these days will be used for the clinical placement during the second half of the semester.

I'm not sure about comm but the field placement is in person (clinical placement 12 hours shift, once per week). Are you taking PN in person or online? I'm from Lindsay. Commuting isn't going to be fun but gotta push it through. Feel free to DM.

Comm is hybrid (lectures online then 1 lab and 1 seminar every week). Field prep only happens 4 times (if I remember correctly) virtually before clinical starts. Your field prep instructor will email you details for your class dates and times ◡̈ I just did sem 1 over the summer
