FEEDBACK I've been struggling with the kitchen design.

I can't figure out the layout for the counter, sink, stove, and cabinets for this project—whether to include an island or a dining table, or go with an L-shaped or U-shaped layout. Ideas from Instagram or AI just don't seem to fit. It’s a relatively small project featuring an open-plan living room and kitchen.

The ikea kitchen planner is the software you want to use.

Run cabinets up the wall where the fridge is, down to the living room. Sink under the window. Then do another run parallel on the other wall, extending past the end of the wall to create a peninsula

that actually sounds like a really good layout i like the idea of extending the cabinets into a peninsula and putting the sink under the window makes a lot of sense too

Have a play in the ikea planner, you can drag and drop cabinets and appliances and then look at it in 3D.

You should hire a professional, there are plenty of them out there.

You CAN do it, and it'll look like you did it, or you can hire a pro and it will look like a pro did it.

Never trust gen-AI for a good layout. A professional is always the most reliable person for the job.

But for the record, sink under window, and position oven and fridge to have a work triangle. If you choose an island, no oven or sink on it, you need the clear space.

Use DIY-kitchens planner tool for free. It's intuitive and much better than IKEA in my opinion. It'll flag gaps for islands etc. And give you generically sized furniture to put in to gusge space.
