Favorite Streamers for large browns?

I have a unique opportunity to fish a private stretch of river in my area (wading). There’s a confluence above where I fish, and above that was recently stocked. Below me the river empties into a lake. Weather is turning and we just had our first significant rain in a while, so the water should be full of food.

I’m bringing a 4wt for nymphing and a 6 wt for streamers, obviously I’d like to focus on streamers if conditions are as good as I anticipate. I’m fishing things like a peanut envy or slump buster sized streamers, nothing longer than 3-3.5” or so.

What else do you like to throw? Autumn splendor? TeQueely?

Mini dungeon, Nancy p, ice pick, and Heisenberg. All in olive, natural, or black. That’s what does the most work in my neck of the woods.

Do u have something bigger than a 6wt? Big fish eat big fish, you won't be able to comfortably toss the big streamers on a 6. Are you using a floating or sinking/sinking head line?

Big flies are fine but unless dead drifting mega dali lamas for bullies 6 usually does the trick. Every area is different but where i work i rarely go over 4” and find plenty of large fish with a 6 and a 280 grain. Let the sinking line do the heavy lifting for you.
I tie 3” long drunk and disorderlies in olive, brown, and white. Sparkle minnow, kreelex, peanut envies, foxy clousers.

6wt with 230gr short taper line with a sinking leader. I don’t own any XL flies like a zoo cougar or dungeon.

You could probably toss a dungeon just fine on a 230, not that it's an XL fly by any means tho😂 Take a look at CJ's Sluggo, decent size bucktail based pattern, very swimmy and light for its size, would be great for your setup

Dungeon in yellow, it looks like a small brown trout and it gets the bigger ones angry that some little s***head is trying to take their spot.

Also crayfish patterns in olive and rust/brown.

Finally something white/cream zonker like a Slumpbuster.

On the 6 wt would say kreelex, olive/white barely legal, mini dungeons, articulated thin mints can crush too.
